I have bad heartburn, severe bloating when I eat, and I get a bad pain in my right side and sometimes on my left. I also have excessive gas. THe doctor said that my red blood cell count is low, but not too low. He also said that my white blood cell count is normal, so I believe that means that my body is not fighting any infections. I am supposed to go see a specialist next week, but I am worried as to what this could be. If anyone has any reasonable suggestions, let me know. I don't want to get blindsided when I see the doctor next week.

I have not done any drugs and do not drink, but on very rare occasions (about 3-4 times a year). The doctor already did an ultrasound for gallbladder disease, but it came back negative. I have not had any injuries and most of these symptoms have gotten worse over the course of about 3-4 years.

Did you have a car accident , taken any drugs, food poisoning, inhaled something bad, gotten poisoned, something on your skin like lotion that you were really allergic to, sat in a car with fumes coming in the car? Bad water, alcohol poison, septic blood? Good luck, get thouroughly tested, and tested for cancer, I am not trying to scare you. Did you swallow razors or a quarter?

You might just have a very bad ulcer, or irritable bowel syndrome - that's the most common causes for this type of thing. Neither are usually serious problems, other than causing the symptoms you already have. However, it is important to stop the bleeding, as uncontrolled bleeding can lead to other problems Your doctor wouldn't have made an appointment a week away if you had something that was a serious health threat.

A low red cell count is what happens with internal bleeding. Its the white blood cells that fight disease, so you haven't lost any immunity..

There could numerous "reasons",but most likely in your case it would be gastointestinal in nature. Perhaps an "ulcer disease",or intestinal polyps, bleeding caused from to much and long term alcohol abuse, and a malignancy. Try not to worry, many many things could be the matter, and early diagnosis is the key for successful treatment and recovery.Take care. SW RNP

The only thing I can come up with , with the descriptions you gave, is you have something wrong with your intestines, somewhere, somehow, hun... I am so sorry . You know, I had two miscarriages, when I was in my "20s", but this one particular one, was really a close call for me.. I almost died.. I lost so much blood! In fact had I not had to get up to go too the bathroom that night, I'd of bled to death in my bed... So, God Spared my life twice, now.. However, when the "Amatuer-Paramedics" arrived they imediately packed me down there, and then on our way to the hospitol, the ambulance breaks-down.. and I'm in this dark ambulance, thinking am I going to die out here in the middle of "nowhere' without my husband? You know.. And so I asked the paramedic's if my husband had arrived, or passed us by yet? Because he had to get a gas station to open up to meet us at the hospitol we lived in such a small town at that time.. The paramedic, was all, "Quit stressing out so bad, help is on its way" a back up Paramedic, was coming for me.. Well, they went along for the ride in the new one, I guess, (I dont remember ever getting in the new one) because I lost so much blood I must have passed out during that time, right.. Anyway, we get to the hospitol, and all of a sudden there's a room full of people around me!! This was really wierd to me, and I kept wishing my (then husband would hurry up and arrive).. And all of a sudden my doctor shows up and starts yelling at these paramedics, "Why did you pack her, she could have bled internally!!!" He kept repeating this to them, until they went out into the hallway!! And began peaking around the corner, to see if I was okay, right.. Well, I was suppose to have a "Blood-Transfusion" but my (then husband) wouldn't see of it, with Aids just recently hitting the United States, at that time.. When anyone in my family would have been happy to fly to my rescue, had they known about my situation, and having the same blood type as me!!! But no my ex wouldn't see to it, they came to my rescue either!! But the only reason I'm telling you all of this is because you said you were bleeding internally, well, hun you can get a blood transfusion if things get really bad, from a family member, who has the same blood type to be "Safe" you know.. I'd of done anything to have had that blood transfusion, because my ex made the doctor allow him to take me home the next day, after a long dragged out arguement the two of them had, about my leaving.. He said only if she has "Absolute Bedrest for one week!!" Will I allow her to go home!! My ex, agreed, and as soon as we got home, he tells me, "I cleaned-up all of your bloody mess, so as soon as you get a little nap, do the dishes, please!!" with no compassion whatsoever, about what I'd just gone through!! You want to talk about seeing stars, everytime I so much as got up to do the dishes!! It was touch and go for me, every time I got up to do anything at all, as far as that was concerned!! But, he orders me to do dishes, and then leaves, me home with our then son who's only 10 months old.. So, I'm now having to do dishes, and take care of my son, while I'm seeing stars!!! And white as a ghost, cuz there's no blood in my body, to do much with!! Those were some pretty scary days for me!!! So, I wish you all the luck hun, and just know that if your going to a "Specialist" he'll make sure you get all the right treatment's and so on" for sure!! You should be in good hands with this specialist.. And you can always get blood with family who has your same blood type.. Good Luck to you hun!! You have a "peaceful day" for me, okay.. Just dont get to worrying about it, today, there's nothing you can do but rest and try not to think about it, for today.. May God put His loving arms around you and "Comfort" you in this time of need.. Take Care for all of us on Yahoo, hun.........Christy....
