No. You should never use soap on a bird, it will wash the essential oils out of its feathers

No. I would not use typical household products on a bird. I've heard that Dawn is a safe soap, but keep in mind that birds are very small and you should only use a tiny bit. Make sure the bird is restrained and cannot get any in its beak.

Why does smell really matter? I find natural bird smell is very cute and unmistakable. I wouldn't trade it for the world. However, I know one bird who doesn't have a natural bird smell. This is because her owners are afraid of her and don't bathe her when she needs it, but her feathers have taken on the smell of their house. It may just be the environment your bird came from that gave it that smell.

Also, there are some sprays specially made for exotics to spray your bird with. The ingredients are not harmful - here's an example: http://www.parrotdiseperch.com/parrot/shop_details.php?prod=734

No, never use shampoo on any bird. Get a bowl that the bird can't flip over when it sits on the rim. Put some water in there and offer it to the birds. When they are ready to bathe, they will.

Birds clean themselves. DO not use Soap on them or shampoo. Even the stupid things sold for washing birds is actually harmful. If you want clean birds. Give them a shallow dish or nice warm water in cage to play in. Or you can mist them with water lightly

You cant use soap on birds. Just use a spray bottle and mist them with it. That is the way they bathe in the wild.

My mother tried that and she killed my sisters bird,. I would go to pet shop and ask them what they would use, there is more than likely a shampoo that is made for birds.

Not people shampoo. You can use Dawn dish soap. Thats what they use on ducks when they are covered in oil. Remember the commercial? LOL
