This is important for a number of reasons because the image of Jesus taking a dump or throwing up after eating some dodgy seafood and drinking too much wine makes him more human and believable in my eyes. Plus it means that it casts doubt about his 'perfection' because how could someone try to convince others of their perfection then say, "If anyone needs me, I'll be on the can...."

The Bible doesn't tell us everything that Jesus did. However it does tell us this about Him.

Hebrews 2:17 Therefore he had to be made like his brothers in every respect, so that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in the service of God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. 18 For because he himself has suffered when tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.

Jesus went through the same things that we go through. He got tired and hungry and things like that.

John 4:5 So he came to a town of Samaria called Sychar, near the field that Jacob had given to his son Joseph. 6 Jacob's well was there; so Jesus, wearied as he was from his journey, was sitting beside the well. It was about the sixth hour.

Matthew 4:1 Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. 2 And after fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry.

"Jesus wept". John 11:35
I suppose you could call that a bodily function. A human trait at least.
