We have been feeding and comforting an old and sick stray cat. He looks like he is dying, vomitting and defecating blood. I see him suffering and it breaks my heart, but I do not have the $100 that most places charge to euthanize and cremate cats. I am wondering if there are any clinics or shelters that I can take him to that would euthanize him for free.

Oh that is so sad. Please don't let him suffer any more. You can take him to animal control or a humane society and they will euthanize him if you can handle him safely to get him there.

I don't know if they would come to trap him and take him. Make a couple of calls and find out.

Most shelters will euthanize for free if you explain that it's a stray (in fact, many shelters will do that even with non-strays). Call around to shelters in your area.

Thank you for caring about this poor kitty.

Some of the specialty cat shelters will help you there. Like Feline Friends and Alley Cats. Its sad that someone abandoned that poor baby and no one has come forward and taken him in and gave him a chance for a good life before now.

Take It To The Human Society

i have had a problem somewhat similar to that.Do the best that you can tho be gentle and feed them water and good food. Nurse it back to health and ask around for people that might want it. If that doesn't work put an ad in the newspaper. And if all that does not work, well sometimes it takes the money to help an animal. WHATEVER you do do not take it to the pound or the humane society, they will most likely kill it.

First off, thank you for caring about this poor kitty, most people wouldn't have bother, so bless you! Every town has a "dog pound" or animal control person that will take the pet for you. Look under the government section in your phone book under "animal control" and call them. Good luck.

I had the same problem when I first got married. We called the shelter and had them come and get the cat.

Why don't you contact your area animal rescues and see if they can take care of him or contact your local animal shelter.

Go to: http://www.mypetnanny.info/PD/index.htm select rescues or shelters and find your area.

It is possible that he may have something that is cureable
