Presbyterian is a form of church government that says that it is ruled by the elders of the church, as opposed to a congregational form of church government.
Theologically, in most types of Presbyterian churches, you find Reformed theology, a conservative and Biblical perspective on preaching and teaching. Reformed theology states that we humans are sinners and need God's mercy and forgiveness, that those who are saved were chosen by God, and that you cannot lose your salvation. There are other things, but they are more detailed and are not important for your question now.
There are some versions of Presbyterian churches/denominations that are less evangelical and more mainstream. It is good to ask some questions if you want to consider membership there, so you get a good fit and know that you will have good Biblical teaching.
