Hi All,
Recently, I've been introduced to a woman, Ariana, by mutual friends of hers and mine.
Ariana and I went on a date this past weekend. It was fun, and there seems to be attraction between she and I.
There is one potential problem, however. While I am single, and have never been married, Ariana is divorced. Her husband was not a Christian (she is), and he has moved on with his life. He now lives in another country, is remarried, and is a father by his new wife there.
As I understand it, Ariana and her husband got divorced because they argued a lot (personality clashes). During their marriage he also apparantly forbid her from attending church.
Is it biblically okay for me to keep dating Ariana (she seems open to the idea), or would it be best for me to leave this one alone?
Opinions, please.
Thanks.

Ask God, only the Holy Spirit can lead you to the right decision.
Jesus tells us that the only reason for divorce is adultery, however, the Law was finished when Christ was rejected by the Law.
Now we under Grace and we have been given the Holy Spirit to help us understand scripture, what is right and what is wrong.
You have to ask the Holy Spirit. Time to start praying in faith.

I am preparing to marry a divorcee and had many conversations on this subject.
First: the Bible speaks about believers being unequally yoked, which seems to be the case here.
Second: God is a God of second chances. Are you willing to submit this relationship to Him and make it everything it should be in His eyes?
Third: are you willing to potentially give up a future leadership position at your church? My church strictly interprets the Biblical qualities of a church leader, and they have come down on the side that "husband of one wife" means you've only been married once, and *she's* only been married once, so I'm never going to be in a leadership position in my church. Ask your pastor/elders about how this works at your church.
I say, if you love her, and you feel God's leading, go for it.

Bible says if a believer is married to an unbeliever and the unbeliever desires to depart, then the believer is free indeed and under no bondage.
1Co 7:13 And the woman which hath a husband that believeth not, and if he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him.
1Co 7:14 For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy.
1Co 7:15 But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: but God hath called us to peace.

If she is divorced from an unbeliever who was, not pleased to dwell with her, she is free to remarry in the church. I would caution you to take things slow.
1 Corinthians 7:15
But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: but God hath called us to peace.
Marriage will effect every part of your life and should not be taken lightly.

Now I’m nonetheless discovering yet, nowhere interior the text cloth, have I seen such strikes. the subject you’re touching upon with this question is slightly subject that i like to call “Rationalizing Sin”. “ok. Don’t look don’t look. fantastic. I’ll look yet I gained’t touch. I’ll touch...yet I gained’t flavor. I’ll flavor yet...” with the help of the time the fool finished discovered what he or she has gotten themselves into, 9 situations out of 10, their already on the different individual’s place approximately to partake or are already partaking in something they shouldn’t. i think you're suitable on your status. countless of folk are just to vulnerable to stand as much as what they see with their eyes. And, a solid occasion of a guy justifying this style of lust is David (a efficient guy, slayer of Goliath in simple terms befell to work out a baaaaaad mamma jamma taking a tub one evening and, until now you recognize it, he replaced into killing husbands and doing conceal-ups) interior the tip, pursuing something which you recognize is taken can in simple terms end with disaster. the two you get caught or you slide real on undesirable, bodily/emotionally linked to somebody you don’t even love. to no longer point out, you could desire to kill somebody so your peoples don’t discover out. (Little humorous tale approximately David. No? in spite of!) in any case, i'm hoping you nonetheless seek for extra religious education. I’m doing the comparable subject and have heard this argument besides. Even without biblical wisdom, it in simple terms lacks experience. Why interior the worldwide could anybody decide directly to be 2d? (Shrugs) Lol.

There are differing viewpoints in the Christian community on this. Some would say that Arianna is bound by her vows for life, no matter what. I know that other Christians would point out that since the ex has remarried, she is free to pursue relationships and marriage. Personally, I subscribe to that view. God bless you as you and she seek His will.

It depends on weather you are talking about the Old Testament or the New. In Old Testament times it would not be accepted unless she were a widow. However if you are a Christian, then you would give more weight to the New Testamate and the teachings of Christ. In which case, leave judgment to the one true Judge and continue to be her friend. If things develop beyond that, speak with your minister of spiritual leader about marriage.

If you exclude a person for obscure, outdated religious reasons then you deserve to miss out on a potentially good opportunity.
I would persue it.
