Hehehe i have no experience of being a pretty girl but here goes with the guesswork ;)
I think its because when I guy sees a stunning girl he automatically thinks that she's out of his league so to save embarrassment he doesn't bother asking her out.

No, that's not true. They do get asked out a lot. It's what they asked out by, though. It's only the egotistical men, who think they are God's gift, that are the one's with the courage to face really good looking girls. That's why the relationships don't last very long!

Yes, yes, yes. That is very true and when we do get asked out it's usually by not very attractive guys, wo are usually very drunk. Probably, because they know that they are not very attractive and dont have anything to lose as they have been turned down many a time before.
But I think you need to define what you class as pretty. I am pretty but i am not pretty in a plastic, Barbie, wannabe WAG kind of way.
I recently spoke to some decent looking lads on a night out who said that they dont approach the real pretty girls (not to be confused with the Barbie doll, wannabe WAGS) because when they approach the "Plastics" (eg: WAG wannabes, Barbies) they know they wont get turned down and are more likely to get some, if you know what I mean.
Hope that kind of answers your question.

Yes, sometimes people can find good-looking people daunting to approach.
:-)
Which is a pity... Good-looking folk need love too!
Though- I found that being good-looking was not a problem. I guess at the end of the day it is a case of how "approachable" a person is, no matter what their outward appearance is.
Remember- nice folk come in all shapes and sizes!
;-)

When i was younger i didn't get asked out much i thought i was just unwanted, but people would tell me all the time that i was really good looking (not trying to sound into myself). i think it was because i was shy i seemed like a snob... guys dont like snobs
guys think they dont have a chance with good looking girls, so they dont try because they think they'll get rejected.

I wouldn't say it is hard to get asked out just a lot of men find me intimidating. Therefore they think I'm not approachable or I have many men chasing after me.

My little sister, who is beautiful, says that guys dont seem interested in her. I'm slightly less attractive than her and don't garner much either. My Mom was ridiculously beautiful when she was young and she had male friends, but no boyfriends for the longest time

no. It is true however that some of the guys that like them don't say anything because they are usually with someone or dating someone. Sadly when the guy does get up the courage to tell them it is usually too late.
