I have been told that some states allow the sale of codeine O.T.C to an adult (18 or over) with proof of ID and a signature. However, I don't know if this is true. When I was a kid (I'm 52), there were lots of OTC cough syrups with codeine (Vicks cough syrup was the bane of my existence...!) as well as opiates; paragoric, an opiate, was in every mom's cupboard to help with teething pains, for instance.

To find out what is available (if anything) contact a pharmacist.

Ha Ha, no, and this is why. They used to sell codeine tablets and cough syrup that you had to sign a controlled substance ledger for. That was stopped in the middle 1980`s because of the abuse.

You won't find one. Codeine is a narcotic pain reliever and can only be obtained with a prescription.

ibprophen or if you are willing you can go to a doc and ask for tylenol w\ condeine and since codeine is a bowel stimulant you could just get some mineral oil if you wish.
