I went to the site:
http://www.theyfly.com/prophecies/prophecies.htm
where it talks about what they said will happen to the earth if we don't change. Does anyone believe this is true? Please be honest and don't put some goofy answer, because I feel really freaked out now that I've read this. It says that once the pope will no longer live in rome (3 popes after John Paul II) that all these HORRIBLE catastrophic things will happen. They say that first it will be the collaspe of the Christian faith - I am Christian, and I'm at the point of losing my faith already (something I really don't want, and so if I hear other people say that they don't think it is true, then maybe I can regain some again). But anyways, If you do think the prophies are real, they said that they can still be changed, so do you know of anything we can begin to do to change things? Please respond, anyone, I feel really upset.

I know that it won't be in MY lifetime (unless all 3 Popes are killed), but I'm more concerned about the next few generations (aka our childeren and grandchildern), and why we can't change something as catastrophic as this when we have the chance?

While I tend to be more of a "seeing is believing" kind of person, I don't discount anything COMPLETELY until proven wacko.

However, that being said, it doesn't take a prophet or genius to see some of the natural consequences of actions - IF you've read history. i.e. I knew immediately after September 11 that we'd be at war in the middle east, and not just with the Taliban. In fact, soon after, we'd declared that Iraq had the infamous "WMD"...at which point I told my family that we'd be at war with them, and when finished with them, our eye would more than likely turn to Iran. See, we'd had problems with Iran for a LONG while (especially when we fought against them WITH Iraq and Saddam), and Saddam had a problem with the older Bush...some problems you just gotta pass on to your kids, I guess.

It was also easy to see that the Patriot Act would be misused (remember the "Red Scare" and McCarthyism in our own country not that long ago?) by our government. "Absolute power corrupts absolutely". And also, was easy to see that as long as we continue to use and use and use and never replace, we'll never get back our world as it once was, REGARDLESS of whether climate change and "global warming/cooling" is true or not. There shouldn't BE a rule in some cities (*coughLAcough* that tell you when you can't go out because pollution is too dangerous to breathe. Does that mean that climate change is a problem? Not necessarily, but it DOES mean that we need to start taking more responsibility for our treatment of our world. We don't have to go "super world-saver psycho", but we SHOULD try to replenish what we've lost.

As far as losing your faith, that is not something I can help you with. But remember that we are all connected, and there is a chance that you're not meant to lose it - and if that is the case, look around you for the people who are "helping" you in ways you don't even realize to keep said faith. Or they might be pointing you in the direction you SHOULD be going.

Change can ALWAYS happen though, so long as you are willing to do what you can to change. Little changes often have a bigger impact than we realize, so you can take heart that your changes MIGHT make an impact, however slight. We are all connected....
