String Cheese, apple slices, jello cubes made with only one cup of water instead of two. They are very firm and if you cut them small, they go right in the mouth w/o a mess. The small pretzel sticks are good. The oreo cookies that come in the little 100 calorie packs are great because they are small and so good. They don't have that messy frosting in the center. I care for my two grands that are exactly the age of yours so I'm thinking about what I give them that they like and are not too messy. The little bear shaped graham crackers go into the mouth one at a time and go right down w/o a mess. I keep baby carrots in a jar of water in the fridge and they love them and they would go to the office in a zip lock bag just fine. You have to put a bit of lemon juice on the apple slices to keep them from turning brown if it will be awhile before they are eaten. Not much or they will be too sour. The cheese cracker like Chezits (sp?) are good but the crackers with the peanut butter in the center are a real mess as the crackers crumble too much. I also cut up cheddar cheese into small squares and that works good. I make mine a little smaller than the one that come in a bag already cut up. My girls also love the yogurt that comes in the little bottles to drink so it's not messy like the spooning kind. I hope this helps a bit. Good Luck and God Bless

These are some of the snacks that I serve at my daycare, kids ranging in age from to 6:
any type of fruit cut up in bite size pieces
veggies are great if they'll eat them
granola bars cut up into bite size pieces
cheese slices or cheese strings
mix cheerios with mini marshmallows (for the 4.5 year old)
pretzel sticks
small bite size crackers like Pepperidge Farm fish crackers

You need crumb-less things. My son likes little boxes of raisins, but thats not fun. Get a recipe for homeade chewy granola bars or mix nuts and raisins and get them to help mix them in a big bowl and put them in baggies. You can buy baggies with designs on them or get them to paint the baggies first. They'll be excited to get to eat them later. Or get brown paper bags and let put the snacks in them and it will be a suprise what they get. my son loves cereal. anything like kix or honey nut cheerios (my sons favorite). apple wedges are good or little carrots if they will eat healthy. unfortunantly there arent a lot of foods that 2 and 4 year olds dont make a mess with....good luck/

You should stock up on veggies and fruit. And get an etch-a-sketch that will keep them busy. And Coloring books. If you have a extra TV at the office, maybe a video they like.
Good luck
