It sounds like you have cystic acne. Proactiv did help for my cystic acne, but really only on the surface. You should see a dermatologist or your family doctor to look at your acne. You may need perscriptions like Accutane or something. The sooner you get treatment the better to prevent acne scarring.

Right now my skin is perfectly clear, for the first time in 3 years. It's been about 9 weeks and all my acne is gone. It is such a great feeling to wake up with clear skin.

I used it, and everything else you can think of, over the counter and prescription stuff..the proactive didn't work for me and i did it for only 3 months.....retin.A was the worst....face got way worse and then finally, was put on accutane and with all the side effects it is said to have...it worked so well, within a month I was clear, I can't say enough good things about it....I guess it is possible to have side effects but looking in the mirror and having no more acne was a really good one for me. !!!!! Just my experience and so you know it has to be bad for you to be able to get it from doc......good luck....acne really stinks but there is hope....

I also had a very bad reaction to Proactiv. I used the regular formula for months thinking that it just might even out, but it didn't. Then I was told I am allergic to Benzoyl Peroxide and that I should try Proactiv's "gentle" line... however the gentle line did nothing for me. Now I use Clean & Clear Foaming Face Wash, followed by C&C toner and use the C&C spot cream.... it works really well.

2 weeks and never came back even after I stopped using it,I think you have to eat more vegetables and don't drink any thing other than water.
