I want to know what is wrong with majority of American's today? Are we all so comfortable in your gas guzzling cars that put out a crap load of CO2 into the atmosphere that we just don't bother to thin about the enviornment? You say the government won't do anything beause the US would go bankrupt? Does money mean more to you than your life on earth? Are people just blind do they not see drastic increases in tornadoes, hurricanes, floods and climate changes? Everyone is screaming Al Gore is Bsing.. Hey facts and figures do not lie. All he was doing was presenting what your government does not want you to know. Those ppl who beleive scientist who say "Oh we don't know why it is getting hotter it definately is not human kinds fault. Hmmmm maybe the sun is getting hotter." I have never heard such BS. This is our scientist saying this. The US is going to go down in the future and it is going to go down hard!!!! Until we get those idiots out of government period!!!!!!! Shesh

Gas guzzling cars are a TINY part of the global warming problem. Far more CO2 is produced by trucks delivering food to cities from farms, tractors growing food on farms, construction equipment building new buildings, electric power plants, airplanes , ships, steel mills and on and on. Sure, it is not necessary to drive a big car if you have only 1 person in it, but we would have to do FAR more than just outlaw SUVs to make a dent in CO2 emission. The damage to the economy by doing that would cause more problems for people than higher temperatures and higher sea levels would. Tornadoes and other bad weather are NOT more common now than 100 years ago. I am talking massive unemployment, poverty, inflation and the political turmoil that would result. I know you do not accept my statements, but they are never the less true.

First why does every one pick on the good ole' USA. China and India didn't sign the Kyoto agreement either, and they are, or soon will be the worlds largest polluters.
Second, global warming talking heads like Gore remind me of Chicken Little. "The sky is falling, the sky is falling!!!!" The earth warms, the earth cools. During the "ICE" age large portions of the planet were covered in ice. Where is it now? I do not believe the CO2 from the caveman's campfires made them melt. 4000 years ago large portions of what are now deserts were fertile lands. Did camel farts cause them to go? Only the misinformed or gullible believe that man is more powerful than he really is. Maybe it's guilt, or the need to believe that everything that happens on this planet needs a 'champion for the cause'. Global warming, global hunger, global drought. These things have come and gone hundreds of times, and will most certainly come again.
Yes, the earth is warming up. This is a fact. Did man cause it? No. Are we making it worse? Probably not. So these global warming Don Quixote's should just get used to the fact that man is not that powerful, that the earth will get warmer for a while, and plan accordingly. Maybe buy up land in Iceland. I understand a few thousand years ago it was good farmland..... go figure.

If people in the USA would put down that Big Mac and do the math they would see that after a few years they would be making money from going solar.

This has not caught on because the current Gov is made up of oil millionares. If the Gov would help the public upgrade their homes to solar the requirment on coal and oil would slow. It is more profitable to keep the american public in the dark and blind to the fact that. People can make money from renewable products.

Just he Oil People won't.

The car that runs from water really works and was invented around 100 years ago and has been proven over and over. But the Oil Co. blocks it because the public can make their own hydrogen. They have to find a way that you have to have high grade hydrogen to make your car run so they can have their big fat rich fingers in the pie or the money will not be invested in the right things.

There is more money in renewables and new jobs and the public will get richer. This is something that the rich can't allow to happen.

It is a money thing. People care but can't do anything about it without help. And the help will never come as long as the wrong people are in office.

they have made a commitment to bring carbon emissions down by 25%,and some other token concepts ,but the USA it the largest contributor to global warming and will never do enough ,

it is easy to apearantly ease off at home ,and then pressure third world countries with demand on production which is done on their behalf

solutions means change ,and change cost money on the one hand and loss of existing schemes and money on the other so what ever politicians may say the reality often is something else

ecologists tend to work for governments and can present anything they like usually in favour of their employers, and so have downplayed the facts , most of the world is kept in the dark of the real things that are going on.

Global warming is in theory reversable, but it will mean global co operation between all countries ,and taking into account human nature and the world politics ,it is unlikely that this will happen,

At least not untill we are all in the middle of planetary disastres and it becomes a battle for the survival of humanity every where.

SOLUTIONS
if you want to help the planet ,plant a tree every week ,if everyone on the planet did we we would be able to reverse the destructive processes

reduce carbon emisions, and they are already working on that by alternative forms of energy and regulations on carbon producing materials, aerosol cans, burning rubbish, industrial chimneys, powerplants etc.

the capture of carbon and the production of water and assist the aquiferous manta.

the world bank pays large subsidies for reforrestation to capture carbon and the best tree for this is the Pawlonia

Waterharvesting projects ,such as millions of small dams.to redirect over ground waterflows from the rains into the ground to supply subteranian water supplies.

the protection of existing forrests.

stop building more highways, urban planning to include vegetation stop building cities encourage people to return to the land to conduct their business from there which now has become possible thanks to the internet.

education to motivate people to auto sufficiency by building more home food gardens.

education on environmental awareness
education on family planning to curb over´populaion

Agricultural education and improvements to follow the principals or sustainability and soil management.

more environmental or land ,design to prevent bush fires, such as--fire breaks

,more dams.regulations and control for public behaviour

alternative effeciant public transport to discourage the use of the internal conbustion engine

recicling wastes,limit water use

Al Gore is a politician, not a scientist. If facts and figures have to indicate global warming to be valid, that's not science at all. They said last year would be the worst hurricane season in history because of global warming, but there wasn't a single one. Is it a valid fact? No, because it doesn't support global warming. If there are any facts supporting man-made global warming, I won't listen to them if they're randomly shuffled and connected to a political scare tactic of "vote democrat or die".

Antwain, take a deep breath and repeat after me: "Not everyone who disagrees with me has something wrong with them nor are they blind about the issue of global warming."

Actually, many of the scientists who support the idea of man caused global warming have received government money grants to do their research into the subject. Given this where do you come up with the crazy idea that global warming is an issue "your Government does not want you to know" [about]?

The reason sadly is that a large minority of the population are criminaly insane. These are the right wing, gun toting, anti aborsion, pro-death penalty, flag waving, patriotic, no brainers - who think Bush is the Son of God, that America is the centre of the Universe and that the second coming is nearly upon us - so why should we have to take care of the environment??

Couple greed and ignorance with arrogance and studity and you get a Republican who drives a 4x4 doing 6 mpg with no clue, no care, nor interest about the wider world - that's why.

It`s the sun;it`s the thing thats affecting our weather now;solar flares are the responsible causes of weather not gasses emitting in the atmosphere.A solar flare killed the electricity in the 70`s one time;that`s how powerful one little flare can do.Al gores figures are exxagerated.Their is still no conclusive evidence of global warming it`s a theory like evolution. How bout you spend your time on real issues like abortion. It`s murder and it`s a fact.New scientific tech. is proving it is a baby not a choice.

I would like to see real proof of global warming. There is no real proof. Just a bunch of lies There have been climate cycles from the beginning of the earth. What is wrong with global warming any way. It is so cold we have to destroy all the resources to keep from freezing to death now.
