I wake up in the mornings sometimes and stretch my legs while laying down and my calves will lock up and become extremely hard. This causes EXTREME pain causing me to break down in tears because of it. I also get this in my feet. Why am I getting these ANNOYING cramps???

The calf cramps are new as of this Winter (During and after basketball season)

Are there anyways to prevent these cramps? Maybe a vitamin I could be lacking???

Thanks a lot (by the way, my calf will hurt for a couple days after the cramp, and after it feels normal, I get another one >:( )

Thanks in advance!

Hi there, have you try adding some salt to your diet..when you are eating tea..add some salt.salt is great for muscle cramps..and drink plenty of fluid..I suffer from cramp in my calf muscles..I've found by adding salt and drinking and stretching the muscles. I've found relief.

Salt loss is rare but can be dangerous
The body loses salt through urine, perspiration, vomiting and diarrhoea. If too much salt is lost, the level of fluid in the blood will drop. In severe cases, low sodium levels in the body can lead to muscle cramps, nausea, vomiting and dizziness. Eventually lack of salt can lead to shock, coma and death.

Agree with all the above, but also include calcium with vitamin D.
It is nature's muscle relaxer.

Yes, you need more sodium and magnesium in your diet. Try drinking more things like gatorade and eating more bananas. This will help you tremendously.
