Many people are using Pro Activ.
But if you do not want to purchase something online and would rather go to a local pharmacy then you can go to any CVS, Walgreens or Brooks and they should have the following:
Cetaphil is a wonderful wash that many dermatologist recommened to wash your face with in the morning and at night.
One common thing that many boys do not do is that they do not wash their face before they go to bed. Which is very important because if you play sports or are very active, the sweat and dirt will clog your pores and cause more pimples and zits. So washing the face is very important.
But also do not wash you face too many times a day. Because washing it too many time a day can cause it to become dry, and your body will naturally want to produce oils on the face to overcome the dryness.
I recommened washing your face in the morning and right before you go to bed with Neutrogena Deep Clean Creme Cleanser. It really clears out the pores. Leave it on for a few minutes until you feel tingling.
Also, during the day, I recommend you buy salicylic acid base gel- I believe Neutrongena also sells this, I rub it on my nose to dry up any blemishes.
On a side Note: Make sure you always wear sunscreen!.And do not pick at them because you do not want to cause scars later on.
It is very normal for your age to have acne, but it never hurts to prevent or help it a little bit.

Right now my skin is perfectly clear, for the first time in 3 years. It's been about 9 weeks and all my acne is gone. It is such a great feeling to wake up with clear skin.

It is best to see your doctor. If you cannot do that, I got some relief by using hydrogen peroxide. This will not cure acne, but helped me look better when my budget was really tight. I also changed my wash cloth and pillow case more often. Next time you need to or are able to see your doctor, use the opportunity to ask for something better for your acne.

You can go to a dermatotogist and he/she will prescribe you some creams. Some of them work really well. You should also find a soap that will not dry out your skin too much or leave your skin really oily. Proactive and all of those other products take a long time to show any difference.

It's hormones. People will try and tell you it's what you eat, or how you wash your face, but pure and simple it comes down to the thing you can't control.
Obviously you HAVE to start with what you CAN control.
Avoid the greasy foods, wash with gentle cleansers, the other posters will give you really great ideas for products.
If this works for you, and your skin is unblemished- fantastic!
BUT... if it doesn't. Go to the dermatologist.
There are medications you can take that will control how much oil is exuded out of your skin.
I don't know how bad it is, but if it's really that bad, you need the doctor.
It's not just vanity. You don't' want to scar!

i agree with the proactiv comments. i started useing it like 2 months ago and haven't seen a zit since then. some people say it doesn't work, or it's too espensive, or is a marketing scheme, but it has worked for me and my siblings, but that othre person is right, you have to give it about 2 weeks. then all the sudden you will wake up and BAM! acne = gone.

What worked for me was I had to take soda completely out of my diet but it worked and I have the clear skin to prove it stay way from soda it is the cause of the acne problems Drink water and lots of water and remember the best solution is from the inside out not the outside in. meaning that it may be something that is in your diet causing the breakouts and stress or lack of sleep may contribute also so go to bed and don't drink soda Ha ha !!

Can your parents take you to a dermatologist? That's the most sure-fire way to get rid of it. I just saw one and for the first time (I'm 27) I've finally got crystal clear skin.
That being said, here's what I used to do:
Wash morning and night with a salycylic cleanser. (Avon Clearskin is a great one) Appy a thin layer of salycylic acid (clear) after washing in the morning. At night after washing apply a thin layer of benzoyl peroxide (10% - like Clearasil)
