Depends on how proficient you are in driving with a standard and what your driving terrain will be like. If you are not used to driving a manual, go automatic or find an old manual to learn with. You do not want to be grinding gears in a new truck. Manuals most of the time will get better gas millage, they are about $1000.00 cheaper, lighter, and are easier to work on then an auto. If you are not proficient with a manual or drive in an area with a lot of hills you may want to opt. for an auto

standard is better on gas milage just alot of shifting if you live in the city so if ya live in the city i'd say go with the automatic . the standard transmission requires a little more work but seem to last a lot longer with cheeper maintance . the standard also will have more power when taking off or pulling a load.
