You probably injured it, thats the diff. between cold treatment and heat treatment.

Heat is for sore/tired muscles

Cold is for injuries, to stop the swelling, pain, and help the healing.

Heat increases the blood flow to the injured area and thus the increased body fluid can also cause increased swelling of the affected tissues. The swollen tissues press down on the nerve ending causing them to fire and you feel pain. Try a cold compress to take down the swelling along with an NSAID like aspirin or ibuprofen. If it continues for more than a couple of days you should go to see your MD and have him/her check you out. You may have torn a muscle that your not aware of. Take care of yourself. GOD bless.
