Besides the fact that they get recalled every few months,,,
My brother was just reading me an article in the Orlando paper,Honda had like 500,000 car sales, Toyota had 300,000, Nissan had like 250,000 (not the real numbers) then Mitsubishi had like 25,000 LOL or some ridiculously low number.

Mitsubishi have been given a foul rep some years in the past whilst they have been caught reducing corners and a few executives certainly commited suicide...finding back, i do no longer think of it replace into any worse than Toyota's contemporary themes with the caught peddle. For me, it rather is tough to renowned the way human beings can say Mitsubishi sucks then turn around and say the Evolution is between the suited automobiles ever made. How can Mitsubishi suck whilst their Pajero has gained the Paris-Darkar rally 14 circumstances? replace into the Galant a great vehicle? no, no longer somewhat, yet nor is the civic. in actuality, Honda merely released yet another bear in mind effects 100s of 1000's of automobiles...they seem to launch them month-to-month. yet all and sundry has it of their head that Honda and Toyota are great vehicle organizations. it rather is merely BS. Like a action picture director paying to get their action picture an Oscar, vehicle organizations pay human beings to assert good issues approximately their ordinary automobiles...they pay comapnies to furnish them awards. Mitsubishis, like each vehicle, will final as long as you're looking after it.

Mitsubishi does have some quality problems, but their bad rep is mostly from their weak designs. The only Mitsu that people covet is the Lancer Evo. the Eclipse is decent, but not great and it's design is so-so.

My wife owns an 01 eclipse GT Spyder. Needless to say, the 3rd gen eclipse's were slapped together, cheapishly. I have never had to replace 3 rims, and buy 4 sets of tires in the 5 years of having it of ANY car I have owned or maintained. I do all the maintenance myself, a lot of the potential problems I have take care of before hand. working on them is expensive, as not many parts are available via the aftermaket, you are forced to the dealer and you will pay premium. A few hoses I needed had to com from mitsu in japan! forget that! I fabricated my own hoses.
the brakes on it are poor, I had to upgrade all 4 pads and rotors with aftermarket parts, the car now stops on a dime.
A complete tune-up, timing belt change, coolant flush and drive belt change is booked at 19 hours. A shop at $120/hr will cost you around $1900 for labor alone. my wife has the V6 model. she bought it just before we met.
check the link below, the web page owner has run into more problems.
the 2nd gen eclipse's.. no problems worth mentioning with that era, 1999 and earlier.

if you want a dependable car get a honda or toyota or something. maybe buy a honda s200 or a m2r spyder that is way better than a mitsubishi. I had a a honda for god know how long and the only wrong thing with it was the wearing out of brake and tire and that come with every car
