It is God that says that not the Christians. Once again do they want to kill the messenger?

Because they have to have someone to blame and since they don't believe in God or satan they have to blaim us because they don't want to take the blame for their own demise.

Atheists don't believe in God, so they believe that it is Christians saying it, not God. Even if God does exist, however, Christians say it too, and since not all Christians believe in Hell, those that do do so willingly.

Some Christians believe that "hellfire" doesn't really exist--that it's a metaphor, or a test, or something of the sort. They believe this on the grounds that torture is evil, and that God is good, and therefore God would never cause or allow someone to be tortured forever. Other Christians, on the other hand, do affirm the literal, horrific Medieval conception of eternal hellfire, endless torture, etc. Most atheists have no problem with the former Christians, but a lot with the latter, because they see the latter either as being hypocrites (for claiming that God is good while he does things which most people would consider evil, at least in any other context) or as threatening them with cheap scare tactics.

It's actually a pretty understandable reaction. Suppose, say, someone from a new political party came to you and said that his political party is about the worship of a certain candidate as perfect, and that that candidate, if elected, will torture forever anyone who disagrees with him. Wouldn't you be immediately disposed to disliking such a candidate? In the same way, if someone tried to convert you to a different religion, and said that you would suffer forever if you didn't convert, you'd probably resent that person. Well, atheists feel the same way about "hellfire-advocating" Christians: if such a God exists, they are worshiping an evil God, and if he doesn't, they're just trying to coerce people with horrific threats.

I don't really see why we need a messenger. It's completely, please understand this, effing impossible not to have heard about hellfire and eternal damnation if you live anywhere at all in the western hemisphere. And yet some people, like me, choose to think it's all hogwash.

If you were the first one to tell me I'm going to burn, oooohkay then. But you wouldn't be. Probably not among the first million even. That's not a friendly warning anymore, that's harassment.

Flipside: How many atheists telling you (uninvited) that there's no God are you going to put up with? Because it's the truth, you know. As I see it.

Oh, believe me....it's the Christians. You see, I'm Jewish and I get told the same thing many times. Jews never tell anyone that unless they believe what we do, they will suffer enternally. Jews do not suffer eternally. We go to a place where we are cleansed of any residual sins and then we go to wherever God is. And since atheists do not believe in god, how can god threaten them? You are so illogical!

the easy answer is using the fact those Christians don’t be responsive to what they are conversing approximately. Hell, everlasting, eternity, constantly and ever, are no longer Biblical words. God is Love and He has a plan for the an prolonged time. we are no longer all saved at one time yet sooner or later all would be perfected. God makes use of evil and devil to consequence His plan of the an prolonged time. Why did God placed the Tree interior the backyard to commence with? Google “Robert Wheeler Todd K7VHQ” and do a splash analyzing. Questions like this are important and choose greater attempt to respond to than some lines of textual content cloth. Google and examine “God’s Eonian objective” by skill of Loudy. reward and spot you there.

It is always the messenger that gets the emotional overviews that result from when the message is received. If you are talking to a fellow christian about what to expect in the after life than you would receive glad tidings and a friendly attitude, If you are trying to save a lost spirit by telling the individual what to expect they will either become angry or try to change and thank you but it is your job to try if refused shake hands and depart. good day.

Maybe they were threatened by some so called Christians at one time.
I think it improper to threaten anyone with hell fire.
Did Jesus threaten anyone with hell fire?
Did He say "Zaccheus, come down out of that tree or you are going to get hell fire? The scare-em into the kingdom is no good. Did Jesus ever scare anyone into the kingdom? NO!

My God says your God is mistaken. There is no hell for you nor me.

Unless of course you wish to create one for yourself through bitterness or delusion. In which case, my God says she's sorry but she respects your free will. Even if that includes choosing to make yourself miserable.

Live long and prosper.

God doesn't say that - he doesn't say anything at all, because he doesn't exist.

You just made this up - you lied - and this kind of dishonesty doesn't reflect well on your religion. It says even less for your "god": are we to believe that "god" is the one who said the childish things that the believers who answered your question posted? Is god really that dishonest and immature?

God doesn't exist. Those threats are coming straight out of the minds of people who have absolutely no problem with the concept of other human beings going to Hell. The Christians can try to pass it off all they want, they still accept that belief as truth, they have internalized it, and they promote it. Lovely people.

There's no mention of "The Rapture" in the Bible, did God come up with that sick fantasy too?
