Your carbs are set to rich, try leaning it out some, those heads are feeding alot of gas in, you really have to lean out the carbs.

Best of Luck!

Well if the problem start after the head change I would say to re jet the carbs leaner probably about 2 jet sizes down. The reason is before the higher flow heads you were not atomizing the gas as well so the gas was not burning so now the mix is too rich at idle and might be though the RPM range. Then read the sprk plugs again and adust for there. All carbs are not correct for all engines out of the box.

There are several things you can check. First use the 600 cmf, a 750 is just to big. Check the floats and set them properly. If it is still running rich go to smaller jets. What is the compression ratio, if it isn't enough to support the cam you are using (I'm to lazy to go look at the grind) you will run rich. Make sure you are getting full spark and the advance is working properly. Good luck.

Nice setup BTW...

the carbs might need to be leaned out, switch to a copper plug, autolite works, maybe a hotter plug to help burn off the soot.

How much fuel pressure are you running .Sounds too me as too much making the engine run too rich.Check this first
