Let the pups suckle as that should encourage more milk flow. Do the pups seem to be hungry? Are they looking for more food or are they snuggled and sleeping? Eight is alot of pups especially if it is a large breed. Can supplement with already prepared formula on the market. Can purchase small nurser bottles also. Your vet will also have this stuff. Does massaging your female help produce any more milk? Sometimes the nips on the upper chest appear not to have much in them, while the lower ones look full.

I would make sure mum is eating and drinking well and encourage pups to suckle if they seem hungry. I would also give the vet a phone call just to be sure. When my dog had her pups I would call the vet as soon as I was uncertain about anything. If they are unable to speak when you ring, you will be given an appropriate time to call when they are free. Leave nothing to chance.
You can buy top up formula from the pet shop along with feeding bottles. But mums milk is best and eight pups are a lot to be feeding with formula at this stage.

Get a puppy formula for the pups in case her milk does dry up.Make sure she has enough food and water and that the pups are suckling normally-if they don't suckle the milk dries up.

Most b1tches produce milk on demand, you don't want her to appear full of milk as that increases the chance of mastitis. Do the pups appear thin/distressed/crying? If not, if they are rounded & content, then Mum is producing enough enough milk.

Unfortunately som ebitches are just not able to produce enough milk for the puppies. This means you will have to start supplementing them but do not take them away from mum, ket her carry on nursing them and you just top them up.

you can get substitute milk from any pet shop. if the puppys refuse that and you havent time to go to the vet mix glucose powder into the water. your mother dog may have eclampsia. take to vet urgently!!!
