yes, because that's what we're to do, we go in and make intercession for our siisters and bothers. God wants all His children to love each other. So why not give the Lord that person's name in prayer, for whatever they are in need of. We need more people who are willing to deny self sometimes for others.

Every Sunday and Monday prayer service I pray for the young Christians. I pray that God will open they eyes of those that don't know him. I pray for those that are bound in prisons, both physical and spiritual. I pray to God for those that are lost and need guidance from above. I pray for those that are broken hearted and greived by the loss of a loved one or a friend. I pray for those with an emptiness inside and don't realize God can fill this void in their life.
Chances are I prayed for you, even though I don't know you.
Why? God loves you and me with a love that we can't comprehend.

Yes. I did so because I felt led to do so. Prayers go up and blessings come down. I do not have to know someone to pray for them.

Yes, and usually it's because the Lord has put a burden for them on my heart. Sometimes I know why I'm praying and sometimes I don't but the Lord knows and that's what matters.

Yes - one of my managers at work asked for prayers for her sister, who was hospitalized with a brain aneurysm, so I said a prayer to the God and Goddess for her survival and recovery. Last I heard she was at home, doing fine except for short-term memory issues.
