I am planning a wedding on a budget. I am wondering what people do with all the decorations after a reception and if there is a place that may sell them? Like a slightly used decoration store. I would like to buy and entire lot not piece by piece if possible.

Try looking at the dollar stores Most people throw out their decorations or use them in their house, or sell them in yard sales.
I have never heard of that kind of store where people sell used decorations.

In other words, you want to save the trouble of putting them together? Not very feasible....most are dumped after the wedding...I know because I have decorated a number of them.

I would suggest you decorate a reception with tablecloths (either up front on buffet tables) or also on individual tables, make a centerpiece out of silk flowers (and candles too if you want)...and use the centerpiece bouquet also on the pews during the wedding. You can add real fern and baby's breath (inexpensive from the florist) to them for the church, then move them by tying them on with pipe cleaners....then put them on the reception tables ( with candles if you want) and use them two ways. You can put them on top of bows on the pews....and move the whole thing if you want.

Then use ribbon, tulle or net, silk flowers or ivy, around the tables, arches, etc. You can do a lot with a little ribbon, white lights, and candles.

It doesn't have to be expensive to be pretty. Be creative and fit the colors to your wedding colors. Even things like tissue paper, colored bags, etc. can be made into table decorations. But usually people don't save them.

When is you weeding? Mine is in two months and I don't really want to throw all stuff I spent so money in the trash. But as far as I now that is what happens, maybe you should star a business online. You can also look into party rentals, lot of those places have center pieces and etc you rent, if it is something that suites your style. Then you don't have to toss them when you're done. About half the stuff I'm using at my wedding is rented. Because they come set it up and make everything look pretty, and remove them when the wedding is over. The other half is going in the dumpster I guess.

I particularly have seen alot of weddings and that is one section the position ppl take advantage mistakes - adorning on a funds as issues have a tendency to look 'low priced' if no longer accomplished suitable. save in ideas each now and then a lot less is more suitable. there is not any more suitable positive and romantic ornament for a wedding ceremony then candles....yet in severe volume and everywhere. For the Centrepieces i could quite see a million stunning flower then a gaggle of more good value familiar flora. Tulle is marvelous for the draping of the genuine table yet again do not over do it. Have a white table fabric with a red overlay on the table and then you'll position white tealights round your centrepieces. Please do no longer use christmas lighting fixtures regardless of the truth that in the journey that they are white - easily everyone is conscious they are christmas lighting fixtures and has a tendency to look tackyish. you are able to attempt renting some candleabra's - low priced and suitable.

You could easily sell your decorations after the wedding on EBAY, its pretty easy to set up an account. To get rid of the centerpieces at my reception, I put a sticker on the bottom of one favor per table, and had the DJ announce that whoever had the sticker, got the centerpiece to take home, it helped a lot with the clean up, and people got to take home beautiful fresh flowers to enjoy.

well depends on what the decorations are. at my wedding we had flower centerpieces in square glass vases. at the end of the reception i offered the centerpieces to everyone. so a lot of people got a nice vase and flower arrangement.

try going to outlet stores for large quantities of items

I think you may want to look at e-bay. People sell a bunch of items together in one transaction for decorations. However, I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for. If I were you, I would watch for things to go on clearance or sale.

It depends most throw them away..I kept all of mine and sold it in one huge lot on e-bay. but i got most of them from the dollar store..and Wal-mart. you can find stuff everywhere. and if your crafty you could make some yourself! try using white X-mas lights to add a nice touch around the room.
Good Luck!

I used the dollerstore for paper streemers and i kept my bows and other decorations. The table cloths were the churches and the balloons you toss out.
