Note pad is a simple plain text editor. What you see is what's in the file.
WordPad has rich text editing features, meaning it can format the text in a few ways: you can set the text size, color, style, use bold or italic text, use center or right justification, insert images or other objects etc.
WordPad can also open a few file formats like Microsoft Word and RTF.
Both Notepad and WordPad are included in the standard windows installation.
If you're looking for a full-featured word processor, you should install microsoft office, or even bettter, get the excellent free and open-source office suite, OpenOffice:

Wordpad is just an upgraded version of notepad. All notepad can do is write text in one font and save in txt format

Hello,
Notepad saves text in standard ASCII meaning, the way you see it on the screen is the way it is written to a file minus font characteristics. Wordpad saved files as you see it on the screen, but it also included editorial and program information in the saved file.
