Do not use a human baby milk formula as it is not in the right % for all the correct nutrients. Only use milk replacer specifically for puppies either get from your vet (recommended) or a good pet store. I use human new born baby bottles for suckling pups as they seem to be able to cope better unless they are really tiny pups.

There's a milk called Whelpi that can be fed to the mother before whelping and given to puppies,it's the closest to a dogs' natural milk.I have known people to use dried baby food with success but it doesn't contain all the essential vitamins for dogs.

If for some reason puppies are orphaned or the mother refuses to feed or she has a big litter, you can get a milk replacement from any pet supply store. You feed it in a bottle just like a baby. They need to eat often just like human babies.
