Atheism was once a science of skepticism, and now it's simply a diverse form of thought with its own rhetoric and blind followers. If the following statement is true (and I assure you it is) how will this affect the future of thought?

I don't see the basis for your assumption.

Atheism has no structure. About all that exists of an organizational nature is a few political action groups. I have very little in common with the majority of atheists I meet. There are no unifying elements at all. It took years of inquiry, reading and studying that brought me to the conclusion that there is no God. So unless I suffer a case of amnesia, there is no chance I would ever embrace religion again. The science of skepticism? Skepticism is not a science, honey. And it is not as though atheism is a fad. It's a function of logic, higher education and an unwillingness to accept that which has not been proven. I see nothing blind about logic. I see the true nature of blindness when I examine the topic of faith.

Atheism is not a science. It never has been.
It is not a "diverse form of thought" - although atheists are individuals and diverse, they share one thing in common - an absence of belief in the existence of deities.
It does not have rhetoric, it is rhetorical.
It does not have "blind followers". Each person is his/her own leader.
I see no statement following your sentence beginning with "If the following statement is true..."
A claim that a statement is true does not make it true...particularly when no statement has been made.
Therein lies the value of logic.
The population of atheists is growing, but atheism is not a religion. When a population grows, some of its members want to connect with each other. They are not uniting to worship anything, they unite if and when they share a common goal. If you want to call a group of people who share an opinion, and unite to share a common goal, people with "rhetoric" and "blind followers", be prepared to call every group of people that unites a religion.
A lot of people attended the Grammy awards. Is film a religion? MADD wants fewer people to drive drunk. Is MADD a religion?
Are they spouting rhetoric? Are they "blind followers"?

As for atheism leading to its own demise, that is theistic thinking. The only thing that dies, with atheism, is each atheist's willingness to accept that which is presented to them as "fact" when there is no evidence to support it. Atheists have been around for a long, long time. They will be around for a long, long time. Atheism isn't going anywhere. What is meeting its demise is blind faith.

When will ya'll get it through your head that atheism is not a religion . It is a lack of it. It has no structualized nature , diverse form of thought , rhetoric or blind followers. Most of us have excellent vision. And we are not following anything.

First of all, you mean if the aforementioned statement is true...not the following, since you already made it

secondly, how can you assure us that it is true? Sources please!

There will be no demise, since logic and rational thought will eventually take over illogical and Irrational thought, the gaps are closing, there's nothing blind about that my friend, you're fighting for a lost cause

there's nothing blind about searching for the truth

I don't know how to classify myself, the only thing I can say about God or what happens when a person dies is "I don't know". but I am certainly not going to believe the nonsense that is put fore ward by any religious person, because just as I don't know, neither do they. They can invent any story they want and make it sound as pretty as they want to, but the reality of it is, they are the ones who are blind not me, for my view is a stated fact for all of us " I or we don't know" and I am not about to allow myself to be swayed by some simple fairy tale guilt ridden story. And as for the future, I evolved from a catholic and I have no desire to go back, my intelligence won't allow it., and I am sure that my ranks will increase in the future, as more and more people become educated and learn to think for themselves, and seek logic over nonsense.

No, I think that the mountain of evidence against religious beliefs and the fact that people are getting smarter (there is an inverse relationship between intelligence and religious beliefs), will result in the eventual end to religion.
Which will be a good thing, since religion has caused more hate, violence, torture, and murder than any other cause in the history of mankind.

No. It is still a herd of cats. They are far to individualistic to create a structure. They have started forming coalitions and action groups on specific issues. But to think they will organize themselves to death, not a chance.

What structure????? I have been an atheist for 30 years and I have yet to have another atheist tell me how to think about anything. There isn't a leader. There isn't even a large group.

Yes, that was pretty silly. Are you in elementary school? I am sure that you did not think up these big words all by yourself, but the word order is so odd that perhaps you rolled dice to see how to construct this sentence.

No, because there is no structure, and there are no blind followers. You can't follow something you dont believe in. Atheism doesn't have followers. Do you believe in a microscopic leprechaun that lives in my hand? I'm assuming you dont. Does that make you a follower of not believing in the microscopic leprechaun that lives in my hand? no
