If you want a darker brown, go for it! The best thing to do since you have never dyed your hair before is to start with a temporary dye like a Cellophane, which wont damage your hair and washed out after about 10 shampoos, so if you dont like it it'll be gone and if you do, find a permanant dye the same color and go for it!

Well if you have a nice tannish kind of skin color I would recommend a medium-dark brown with a carmel glaze or highlights. But don't dye your hair too much it can totally fry your hair. I would recommend getting it professionally done because I've heard darker colors are easier to mess up than lighter colors.
Good Luck!..... Hoped this helped! (:

i dye my hair alot (im a natural blond and i dye it black) and have found out that balsam works the best. i have been dying my hair for about 5 months and it doesnt affect it much, other than it is harder to style. and at first dont go from a light to a dark hair color, take it shades at a time exp. if you have blond hair and wana dye it black first dye it a light brown then dark brown then black. i made that mistake and my hair was purple :((( i hope this helps some!!

Do it. Definitely use a semi-permanent color because then it will fade back to your natural. I like Radiance color gloss from Sally's and Loreal Color Gems also from sally. They make the hair super shiny and fade naturally. Then from there you can go permanent if you like the results. Dark Golden Brown or anything kinda like that is the shade I would suggest.

Go for it. You never know until you try it.
I'd suggest Clairol because they're pretty good and they know what they're doing. Same with L'Oreal. They give a good moisturizer after your hair has been dyed. And a darker brown might give more pop to your skin and look very nice.

I would strongly suggest going to a salon. They can "low light" it, so some of it is your own color and some is darker. It gives a darker effect without being too harsh.

I don't think you should dye it any darker but maybe put some blond hilights in your hair it would make your face look softer. But don't dye it any darker.

I think that you should die your hair if you want to.
If you think people will comment badly about it then don't die it.
If you look like the avatar then it might not be a dramatic change.
I say go for it!!
