If you continue to highlight your hair, try something that allows some of the brown to show through. You may want to use lowlights in the winter and go brighter in the summer. You may also want dye all of your hair a lighter shade of brown. That way, your medium brown roots won't be as noticeable.

Try doing sublte sun highlights, cut open a lemon and squeeze the juice in your hair. Go out in the sun and it will naturally lighten your hair and give it little golden highlights. It looks more natural and would brighten your brown hair without having bad roots.
Also it's all natural lemon so it's not as damaging as real chemical highlights.

Try other colored highlights besides blonde, some caramel, reds or browns to make your roots less noticeable.

I say you should let your roots go brown because your body knows what it should have and if it wants BROWN, then you should let it go brown. Maybe blonde isn't right for you. My hair turned from black to light brownish, and I eventually got used to it and now I love it!

our hair generally changes color from childhood to adulthood and typically from light to dark depending on our genes. your situation is a personal decision that only you can make, along with your hairstylist and maybe some opinions from a few friends. you just have to decide if you want to live with the maintenance of hi-lites. if you decide to go to an all over shade of brown then there will be less upkeep. good luck with your decision. -from a licensed stylist-

how about lowlights. They are more subtle and still give you depth in color.
