What is the difference between the student vs commercial version of Adobe CS 2.3?

Is there any reason not to buy the student version of software if you are eligible? I can see it is alot less expensive but don't want to spend less money if the software itself is a limited version as I want to learn the full versions of Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, etc.

Its the same thing.
The box will say "Academic Version", but its the exact same full feature version. All the tools, bells, whistles, features, etc.

I bought all my desktop publishing software the same way many years ago when I was in school.
