Not sure what type of worms he has but if he is outside and tends to hunt you may want to worm him regularly.
Go to Walgreens and buy Reeses Human Pinworm Liquid, it is banana flavored and cats seem to be ok with that for my farm cats I use 1 cc per 10 lbs of cat. So I mix it in a saucer of warm milk and feed to each cat about every 3 months or so. It is real cheap and it works exellent for round and hook.
Now for tape worms I buy Tradewind tape worm tabs online or at Petco I think carries it but I think it is cheaper online. It will be a little bottle of 3 pills. Enough to worm him 3 times maybe about every 3 months also. This is if he goes outside and is at constant risk of reinfestation.
And for fleas, I use Advantage it is way cheaper online also. Hint PLAIN OLD ADVANTAGE........ NOT ADVANTIX To save money you can buy large cat Advantage and split into two doses if you cat is med to small.

You don't say what kind of worms your cat has? They can get tape worms from fleas and eating rabbits or rabbit feces. They can also have round worms or hook worms. Take a stool sample to your vet to find out what kind the cat has. Next prevent it from reoccurring. Keep your cat confined to a safe area in the yard or inside the house. Keep fleas away. Once an animal has been rid of worms they should not get them again. Is your cat running loose? Shouldn't be less its a farm cat. Shouldn't need to de-worm a cat every month. The stuff on the market is a general wormer, not worm specific.

Hey,
Depending on what kind of worms your cat had, being treated once may not kill all of the worms. Your cat also may be reinfesting by eating mice or birds. If your cat had tapeworms, you need to make sure he doesn't have fleas. If he has fleas, he is going to keep getting tapeworms. DO NOT USE FLEA PRODUCTS OR DEWORMING PRODUCTS FROM ANYWHERE BUT A VETERINARIAN. These products are NOT SAFE. Sure, some people use them and don't have a problem, but I am an emergency veterinary technician and I have seen these products kill pets. Those products are cheaper for a reason....they are low quality and unsafe! Your vet will need to do a fecal exam (if they havn't already) to determine what kind of worms he has. Certain dewormers only work for certain worms. Again....treating with grocery store or pet store products will at best just not work, at worst make your cat sick or dead!
Good luck!

My cat got worms and I took him to the vet also but, the vet should have checked for fleas along with giving your cat de-wormer and gave him some flea treatment. Fleas are known to give your cats worms. Go to Walmart or Petco and buy flea spot treatment or any kind of flea treatment to make them die also buy a flea collar and keep it on your cat at all times. This should help I hope because your cat probably doesn't feel to good with those worms. You should try this as fast as you can

Does your cat roam around outside? This could be how he is getting them again. Cats need to be wormed on a regular basis especially if they go outside. There are many effective palatable wormers on the market. This could save you trips to the vets office.

It sounds like your cat is an outside cat. If it is, he eats all sorts of stuff outside-birds, squirrels, possums. Take him regularly to the vet to get him de-wormed, or keep him indoors only and regulate his diet so he doesn't have wild killed animals.

Take him back to the vet, then control his diet so that the worms do not reoccur again.

depends on what type of intestinal parasites they are. You need to ask your vet what dewormer they were given and if it needs to be repeated
