My boyfriends mom hates me and she says its because i am rude when I barley even talk to her I say hi to her and ask her how her day is every time I see her. And she acts like everything is okay but when she is around my boyfriend she calls me all these names. And my boyfriend and her got in an arguement last night and she kept saying all this stuff about he can do better than me and everything. I dont know how to get her to like me. Someone please help!!!!

If that's the worst she can come up with, she's just a b****. Maybe she confuses being shy with rude? Maybe she liked his old girlfriend or something, so she's mad he's going out with you? Possible. Sounds like she's trying to break you guys up, and she's totally crazy.
How does your boyfriend handle it? Does he defend her or does he defend you? If he defends you and stuff, that is GOOD, if he defends her, that is BAD (and get away from him, cuz he's a mama's boy). You can't get her to like you, all you can do is confront her, and ask her, "okay, so just cuz I'm quiet you think I'm rude. How can I be rude if I don't say much cuz I'm quiet?" Maybe she's just ignorant or thinks that cuz you don't say much you are being rude. Ask her that.

Ok you need to man up in your case and tell her how it really is. She is manipulating the case and the fact that you use your man to back you up when you should be defending yourself. When she next time trying to call you names tell her you dont appreciate her calling you like that and she need to as a mature and grown woman to start respecting because you are not what she thing you are. If that dont help you need to try to show her that you wont anyone step over her even if she is your husbands mother. Make sure if you argue with her in front of him, you emphasise on the fact that you love your husband and she wants him tobe happy she need to respect you and start treating you like daughter in law. If she cant live with it and have you for no reason then you just gon have to back her off your family period. Put her under ultimatum that if she keep behaving like this then its going to be her or you and your husband going to have to get involved and this time to make a choice of what its going to be. Sorry sweety but may work, because apparently you being nice to her all the time and asking her how she is doing everytime you see dont work. In you case you need to start raising voice. She may actually respect that and like about you. Maybe its what she is waiting for....for you to prove that noone can get between you two, not even his mom.

His mom is threatened - you are taking away her baby boy. (I know you're most likely not trying to, but most moms see it that way). I've been the girlfriend in this situation more than I care to count. There really isn't a way to "get her to like you". If it's meant to be then it will be, and she'll eventually realize she's being silly. I don't know how much time you spend with your boyfriend, but maybe she feels like you're taking all of his time up? Maybe suggest that he spend some time with just her for an evening once in awhile, so she can feel like she's still a part of his life. It also might help if the both of you spend more time with her (like, if you go over to his house, instead of retreating to the basement to watch TV, spend some time talking with her). That way she'll feel like she's not being completely shut out of that part of his life, either, so she'll be more open to you being around. Good luck.

Oh, honey! I am so sorry. I went through the same thing. I dont know how old you are....but I am 29. I laid down the law to her in a very respectful way and I let herknow that I would never say the horrible things that she said about me, because i respected her. That is how my parents raised me. When it was all said and done she apologized and now things are fine. we just had to iron out the crinkles. Dont let her come between you and your boyfriend. Just always be respectful to her especially in her home. Dont give her any ammo against you. The number one thing is keep your chin up and head high. If he stands up for you then he is a keeper..

Just try and get to know her better. Learn about some things she's interested in so then yous can have something to talk about..I really don't know what else to say. If she sees that you make her son happy, eventually she'll probably come around to the idea of yous two being together. Good luck!

I don't think you can just make her like you. It'll definitely take time but I wish you all the best. I'm sure if you respect her all the time or just nod or say thank you whenever she would say something bad than perhaps one day she'll think that she's just being stupid trying to call you all these names. I don't think she wants to do it deep down inside but I guess she's trying to get her boy to find some other girls. which is wrong.

Well it sounds like you just might be a little shy around her,which is okay.Shyness can be seen as rudeness when it just means you just don't know the person well or you're just quite.You can't really do anything because that's just the way you are.She really only has to deal with it,or you might have to prove her wrong with time.

If she says you're rude then to her you probably are. Just because you say hi to her everyday doesn't mean that you're not rude. Maybe there is something in the tone of your voice that she sees as sarcasm or just sucking up or maybe she thinks you're one of those snotty teens. I'm not saying you're rude, but I'd be more inclined to believe that it's just a generation gap sort of thing.

Do me a favor dont go around her. SHE is just afraid of losing her son. SHE is blaming u. THERE Will never be any one good enough 4 her.YOU will only bring the worse out of her. ID stay a way. SHE had better be careful she may lose a son.

Are you rude? Most young men and women in this day and age ARE rude and think they can speak to people in anyway they want. Do you use Mr or Mrs? I don't think she just hates you and most likely wouldn't make the comment of you are rude without reason
