The report that "An Inconvenient Truth" referenced can be found here:
http://www.sciencemag.org/cgi/content/full/306/5702/1686
More on the study: "The 928 papers were divided into six categories: explicit endorsement of the consensus position, evaluation of impacts, mitigation proposals, methods, paleoclimate analysis, and rejection of the consensus position. Of all the papers, 75% fell into the first three categories, either explicitly or implicitly accepting the consensus view; 25% dealt with methods or paleoclimate, taking no position on current anthropogenic climate change. Remarkably, none of the papers disagreed with the consensus position."
If you look into the global warming critics, you'll find a trail of cash back to the oil and fossil fuel industry. Robert Balling, a leading global warming critic, acknowledged that he had received $408,000 in research funding from the fossil fuel industry over the last decade. Contributors include ExxonMobil, the British Coal Corporation, Cyprus Minerals and OPEC.
Balling writes for the Cato Institute, a libertarian group pushing a political agenda. They have taken funds from Phillip Morris and other tobacco companies and from ExxonMobile.
ExxonMobile has in fact been a huge financial supporter of global warming skeptics.
Many non scientific former skeptics have embraced the consensus view. They include conservative FOX media mogul Rupert Murdoch, Richard Branson, and even Pat Robertson.
In short, if you look at the arguments against global warming, you'll often find a link to the oil industry. Many arguments against global warming are weak and anecdotal, not scientific. Many former skeptics have opened their eyes to the mountain of scientific evidence. The vast library of peer reviewed scientific literature show no serious arguments against global warming. Those who argue against it are a radical fringe group with ulterior motives and not taken seriously by the scientific community.

you understand that that is humorous that round 60 years in the past people were very scared at how warm it become on earth. Then, durring the commercial revolution when we were merely blasting CO2 into the ambience, a humorous element got here about. The Earth were given chillier... plenty chillier! there turned right into a large public concern contained in the 70's that we were headed to a unique ice age. Then what got here about? It were given hotter, plenty hotter. In 1998 it peaked. The temperature of the Earth had risen an common of two ranges. Then what got here about? this is been getting chillier for the previous ten years. This iciness 27 u . s . cities stated the coldest iciness in over a decade. Sydney Australia in many cases has a summer often times as a lot as 103 ranges. Their summer this year become merely 87 ranges. there is a million sq. miles of extra ice in Antartica than ever earlier. 31,000 Scientists say international warming is a farse and the different is going on. Our sunlight has been silent with image voltaic pastime for the previous 3 years which isn't everyday. this stuff ensue in cycles. contained in the top of the 1700's we had what's termed the little ice age the position the Earth cooled and the sunlight took a touch nap. this can ensue over and yet yet again. the reason all of us is in this style of debate is because we are only growing conscious of this cycle. Come on? the large mild bulb contained in the sky has a million cases extra impact over our ecosystem than our automobiles. CO2 has continually been on earth and has no longer something to do with international Warming... it truly is even as the Globe is Warming, even though it isn't I asure you! chilly climate on the way!

This is one of those questions that reminds me of the question of is there a god or is there not a god?
More people think there is a god then don't and have no proof at all that there is. While proof mounts that there is not a god.
Kinda of the same with global warming. There is proof of global warming. No proof that man don't play apart in it. And millions of millions of pages written on how man is involved in the global warming.
So it just depends on which side of the game you are on. Are you trying to get rich from the Oil market or are you trying to sell solar panels? If you are George Bush and into oil then you are money driven to say man has no part in global warming. If you own a church and make your money by suckering people out of money in the name of god then you believe in god.
So which do you believe? You would not believe the proof if someone would show it to you anyway.
Would you even read it? Most peoples minds are already made up and till the ice caps melts and the land starts flooding to peoples front porch a lot of people are not going to believe it even then.
My point is. Better safe then sorry.
What does it hurt anyway. Solar Electric starts paying you back in cold hard cash sooner or later, So may as well take the money and and save the planet. And if you are in to Oil money. you may as well get the money because by the time the warming kills out everyone on the planet you will be long gone anyway. So it won't matter.
Sorry for ragging on you but really folks.
How silly can people be worrying about killing out the human race when Britney keeps checking out of rehab and has cut off her hair. And then can you beleive we are talking about world problems when Anna died and we should be worried if her mom gets the body or not and who will take care of the pooooor little rich baby or someone going to take her money away from her and kick the baby out on the streets with nothing.
Did we forget about Paris H.? My god and to think that Madonna is taking in poor kids from over seas.
So too many bigger things to worry about then global warming.
lol ..
Sorry again..

Every one I have ever come across is unsupported - purely anacdotal. The reason for this is that the problem is real, not fictitious.
You can try and construct an argument against the facts - but ultimately there is no firm scientific basis for these. Net result - follow the links:

Read State of Fear by Michael Crichton. Although it is a work of "fiction" it sites (footnotes) numerous scientific sources of information disputing the idea of global warming. Basically, the earth has been warming and cooling and warming and cooling since it began. Even if this isn't the best answer, the book was a good read.

There are more reputable scientists defending astrology than defending "global warming," but liberals simply announce that the debate has been resolved in their favor and demand that we shut down all production.
They think they can live in a world of only Malibu and East Hampton — with no Trentons or Detroits. It does not occur to them that someone has to manufacture the tiles and steel and glass and solar panels that go into those "eco-friendly" mansions, and someone has to truck it all to their beachfront properties, and someone else has to transport all the workers there to build it. (And then someone has to drive the fleets of trucks delivering the pachysandra and bottled water every day.)

The earth is in a constant state of flux. It is a slow natural process that has happened before and will happen again. Most likely climates will change eventually just like they did before. Mankind has always adapted and moved depending on his environment. It will be a gradual shift. This is not something that is going to happen overnight. Even if it did there is nothing we can do to stop nature.

FACT.
Global warming is not caused by humans. If it was why did the first ice age end? How did Humans cause the ice to melt then? It is a weather trend. Trends take hundreds of years to complete, you can't judge it with 30 years worth of data like lunatic Al Gore would like you to believe.

Mars and Jupiter show evidence of warming.
As anthropogenic gasses are not in the Mars or Jupiter cases, that should tell you something.

these are my arguments limited to my experience and knowledge
Is global warming a man-made menace?
not all there are natural cycles in the planets life
but a lot is influenced by mans existance ,and this is increasing with overpopulation, putting strains on Natural resources and increasing contaminations as well as destructions of essential componants the ensure living conditions for all life forms
some home truths
politicians and scientists who work for politicians have downplayed the facts because solutions are expensive and means change and change effects many people income, and most of the world is kept in the dark of the real things that are going on.
in North Africa,India,Mexico ,millions of people are effected by land loss and desertification
in recent times thousands of people have died because of exessive heat, usually old people.in India ,Mexico and France,
deforestation causing desertification, the desert conditions causing very cold nights and scorching hot days
in china, thousands of what used to be farmers are running for their lives from the dust storms that have burried their towns and turned their lands into dessert, the globe where they were got to hot for them .
and instead of producing food they are now needing it from some where else, and they will drastically effect the world food prices when they start buying water in the form of grains ,at any cost destabalising governments, in some countries ,could be the result
(are you seeing more Chinese around interested in agricultural lands ,we do here in Mexico)
,the Sahara is growing by 7 kilometers a year
and all of the desserts we know are a results of mans actions ,and they are increasing ,not getting less ,in the dinosaurs days ,there were no desserts.
collectively this planet is drying up because of bad farming practices like, over grazing and fertilizers,
as far as the food production is concerned, Global warming or some of its effects are serious, rising seas result in landloss
each degree rise in temperature means 10%crop loss
more landloss because of desertification every year,we have less areble land to produce food ,for an extra 70 million people ,
and there is less and less water (because of deforestation),to irrigate this production ,
and there are less and less farmers to do it..
who are overpumping deep carbon aquifiers
who are plowing more and more unstable lands because they have lost so many million hectares to desertification ,
because of bad farming practises ,such as using fertilizers and heavy machinary or over grazing
RISING SEAS
The northpole is melting ,and we will know it without ice in our life times.
this does not affect the sea level because it is ice that is already in the water.but the melting ice from Green land and the south pole ,are another matter.
Global warming is in theory reversable, but it will mean global co operation between all countries ,and taking into account human nature and the world politics ,it is unlikely that this will happen,
At least not untill we are all in the middle of planetary disastres and it becomes a battle for the survival of humanity every where.
SOLUTIONS
if you want to help the planet ,plant a tree every week ,if everyone on the planet did we we would be able to reverse the destructive processes
reduce carbon emisions, and they are already working on that by alternative forms of energy and regulations on carbon producing materials, aerosol cans, burning rubbish, industrial chimneys, powerplants etc.
the capture of carbon and the production of water and assist the aquiferous manta.
the world bank pays large subsidies for reforrestation to capture carbon and the best tree for this is the Pawlonia
Waterharvesting projects ,such as millions of small dams.to redirect over ground waterflows from the rains into the ground to supply subteranian water supplies.
the protection of existing forrests.
stop building more highways, urban planning to include vegetation stop building cities encourage people to return to the land to conduct their business from there which now has become possible thanks to the internet.
education to motivate people to auto sufficiency by building more home food gardens.
education on environmental awareness
education on family planning to curb over´populaion
Agricultural education and improvements to follow the principals or sustainability and soil management.
more environmental or land ,design to prevent bush fires, such as--fire breaks
,more dams.regulations and control for public behaviour
alternative effeciant public transport to discourage the use of the internal conbustion engine
recicling wastes,limit water use
