So what's with these ignorant videos on youtube where atheists think they are blaspheming the Holy spirit? First of all, they don't even know what is it and how it works in normal everyday lives. You can't blaspheme something if you don't know what it is or say it doesn't exist.

How can one know whether or not they have committed "the unforgivable sin

People who DON"T have a conscience have had their conscience seared like a hot IRON.

They have committed the unpardonable sin.
they usually don't live very long after they do it.

"Persons deeply troubled by a guilty conscience often fear that they have sinned too grievously for God to forgive and save them.
They are okay...because they have a guilty conscience.

Others, dominated by a carnal, calculating attitude, hope to sin to the limit and then come to Christ to escape the consequences.

Thus with radically different motives, both ask 'Is it possible to sin beyond the point of being saved...oooooo yes.

You have to know exactly what you're doing to blaspheme the Holy Spirit, it's not something that can be done out of ignorance. It has to be a purposeful thing, so yes it does show a lack of remorse in that the person doing it does not want to ask for forgiveness because they are so far gone. I do know it is blasphemy of the Holy Spirit if you attribute the things of God to being works of the Devil.

When the source of evil speaking against Christ is ignorance, misconception, or ill-informed prejudice, then that blasphemy is as pardonable as any sin.

The person who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit, how ever, places himself beyond the reach of forgiveness. This is true because the Holy Spirit is the agent in the revelation of divine truth. Blasphemy against the Spirit is unforgivable because its source is a heart of malice, selfish preference of wrong over right and evil over good, and a willful refusal to believe.

As long as a person persists in this state, genuine repentance is impossible. There is no room in this person's heart for penitence, which is a prerequisite for forgiveness. His sin is unpardonable simply because he is unwilling to travel the road that leads to pardon. The only sin that God is unable to forgive is the unwillingness to accept forgiveness.

No. To blasphemy the Holy Spirit, is to take the Lord's name in vane. That means if you use the Lords name to prophesy falsely. To tell someone something evil, in the name of God. It is the unforgivable sin, as well. It means you tell a lie, to hurt another, and say that it came from God. You are a complete, and utter liar, if you would do such a thing. It includes deception, which is a deed of Satan. Satan is the deceiver, and if you would do as he does, then you are Satan's child, not God's.

Mark 3:29 - But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation.

Mark 3: 22 And the scribes which came down from Jerusalem said, He hath Beelzebub, and by the prince of the devils casteth he out devils. 23 And he called them unto him, and said unto them in parables, How can Satan cast out Satan? 24 And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. 25 And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand. 26 And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end. 27 No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house. 28 Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme: 29 But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation. 30 Because they said, He hath an unclean spirit.

In the bible, blaspheming the Holy Spirit was the Pharisees saying Jesus had a demon and that it was by satan that Jesus cast out demons, when it was really by the Holy Spirit

That would make absolute sense to me. Rejecting any kind of religion isn't blasphemy but an inability to critically look at your own life and make moral decisions very well may be. I like that definition...refreshing.
