The best thing to do is bite the bullet and get a professional to correct it. Trying to get original hair color back after a dyeing disaster it is pretty much impossible to do it home. Chances are it will only get worse.

I dyed my hair dark brown once and it turned out very dark like black, but after i washed it a few times the colour faded to brown.Head and shoulders shampoo should help to make it fade, just keep washing your hair.

"Garnier" have a stripping kit that you can buy from your local "Tesco's"
my friend's mom has done your trick and had to strip it back. STRAND TEST next time.
Other than that get a shampoo called T-Gel it does take a lot of colour from your hair, but it really stinks as it has coal tar in it and makes the water go a bright lumionus yellow
or go to a professional

You may think it is black but it is actually a dark brown. Wash it a few times which will help, other than that its a waiting game i'm afraid. Washing it plenty will eventually make the colour lighter.

I have heard if you wash your hair with Head and Shoulders, it pretty much strips everything from the hair so may take some of the colour off. Other than that - I would seek professional help

Vosene helps get some colour out but I think it's the hairdresser for you I'm afraid.
Good luck I really do know how you feel I've been there in the past!

your best bet is to have some high lights put in other wise you will be putting something on it all the time and it will never work out right the salon will be cheaper in the long run x

You could try putting light brown highlights threw it, but its very dark so it might not work...you may have to bleech it then put lots of different low lights and highlights threw it
