My father is 95 yrs young! He was my idol when I was growing up, so patient and responsible and caring. I am the youngest of two daughters, and I have always felt even if he didn't understand the "why" of me and my life, he respected me and loved me regardless. That is the greatest gift he ever gave me, the sense of acceptance . My gift to him and my mother were three loving daughters (granddaughters) and five great grandchildren, who have his equal love as well. Is he perfect? Of course not, set in his ways as a stubborn Dutchman that he is, and often says things a little too bluntly, and loudly now that he is hard of hearing, but he has always been my rock in this life's' often times stormy seas.

You know what man, I love my pops because he's my father, you know, 'cause if it wasn't for him I wouldn't be here. But besides that, I don't too much care for him because he's such a deadbeat. He got my mother pregnant when she was 19 and he was 22. I mean, he was young, but he still could've took care of me. He should have married my mama.

He is the first man who ever loved me, and has worked hard to provide a good life for my brother and myself. I have always been "daddy's little girl" and have always adored him...even when I was an angry teen thinking daddy wanted to ruin my fun. Now that I am getting married a part of me will always be "Daddy's Little Girl" and he will always be a very important man in my life.

He means a lot to me....Without him, I wouldnt have been the man I am today....I love my family because they support me and they are the only ones who love me unconditionally and I would never be able to return even a small part of what they have done to me...

In all honesty nothing at all. He wasn't a bad person, far from it, it's just that I barely give him a thought anymore and neither does my Mother.
