I mean, Jesus was an influential and loving human in his lifetime. Doesn't that make him still just as important?

This is in reference to the documentary on the Discovery channel tonight (sunday) at 9:00 where James Cameron claims to have found the remains of Jesus buried with Mary, his mom, Mary Magdalene, a son, and other relatives in Jerusalem.

Hi,
Jesus never married, and didn't have children. He never had sexual intercourse with another person so it would be impossible for him to reproduce. The Scriptures say he was guiltless and without sin. Don't fall for the teachings of this world that say he did this and did that. Most of the world is totally clueless about God and Jesus. Jesus said "Do not put your trust in Nobles or the sons of men from which salvation doesn't come" He said that because we have a very limited perspective on what's real and what isn't. Read the Bible for yourself and make up your own mind.....In fact don't even take my word for it, look it up for yourself.

I don't understand why the fact that Jesus may have had children and a wife would so upset Christians who believe so strongly in family values. The bible never stated anywhere that Jesus wasn't married even though it never states that he was.

Throughout history, people leave out things they don't think is important and in those day, women and men's involvement with women was never seen as noteworthy. Today maybe we do and people would consider that important information.

Just because it was never mentioned, doesn't mean it isn't a fact. I can't imagine why it would be considered so important for Jesus to be a "virgin". Sex never has been humanity's biggest crime.

Yes it does change it. Because that means God sinned and that not possible. Its like asking humans to not sin without any help from God, Its just not going to happen. Jesus came to our earth born as a carpenters son. He was poor and lowly, he never sinned! (yes he never stole that cookie or got in a fight with james his brother NEVER) He couldnt even be temped by the devil! How in the world would a women tempt him if the devil cant? Jesus, came to the earth to die for our sins. He paid the price. To do that he had sin his entire life. And thats exactly what he did. So yes is would change my faith if he married, had sex and had a child because then he would be falling into the manly temptations of our world. And he didnt so there .
may God bless you and everyone you love!

That is exactly right. Look it was 2000 years ago. The Bible translated thousands of times and in to different languages. If he is the son of God I know I would feel better knowing he was a human man. It doesn't change the fact that he was the son of God, it just says he had a wife and children. So what? He is not her to defend himself or tell you what transpired 2000 years ago. Besides I think it is pretty funny that this comes to light just after a movie about a hoax on the Christian world. LOL.. any one that takes this seriously as fact, please contact me as I have some prime land for sale cheap in middle of the ocean.

the son of man had no place to rest his head.
he was too busy healing the masses to have time for a family.
"James Cameron" is not an archaeologist, and the fellow who did discover the ossiary in the 80's did not give them any import.

Absolutely not.
It would in fact strengthen my faith.
The main reason I am a Christian to begin with is because of all the religions and Gods there are to choose from...Christ is the most appealing to me for the simple fact that he was a man and he knew what it was like to be of the flesh.
so...
if this is true...and I tend to lean toward the fact that it's very possible....
It would solidify my faith even more

I don't know where the Catholic church ever got the idea that priests can't get married. Marriage is considered a sacred union in which a man and a woman should cleave onto one another and be one. Why would Christ participating in this take away from his divinity? If anything, I feel it strengthens it.

No. But i don't believe in that, because God in Heaven don't whant to give to men the animalic instinct to do children,.....Eve and Adam must to not eat from the apple tree...... so that original sin is missing from Jesus and Saint Mary life.

If a person consider Jesus to be a teacher or prophet and not the son of God, then nothing will change.

Ofcourse it would, Jesus called upon people to abandon their families/loved ones and leave all worldly things behind for the sake of God, if he would've had a family it would shake everything he said to the very core.
