I am truck shopping, and I need your opinion on weather I should get a Chevy, Dodge, or Toyota. I need a full size truck and I have always been a Chevy girl, but I sure do like the new dodge Ram's, I drove a really nice one 2 days ago, but I just am a very indecisive person and I want to get the best truck for my money! I need something with a pretty good towing capability but I don't need a big 3500 duely or anything like that. The dodge I tested out was a ram 1500 with a hemi, and it was perfect.....but I love Chevy, and Toyota makes a pretty good new truck too, I just worry that the toyota might not be beefy enough......so I need some opinions here, thank you very much in advance for your info!

Shaq iz Phat how can you say a Honda Ridgeline? Do you even know anything about trucks? That does not even come close to a truck. A V-6 engine? Yeah try towing anything with that. That is a vehicle that is a huge pretender.

For a REAL truck, I would get a Dodge Ram, or a Chevy Silverado. Americans need to invest in companys that invest in America are involved in their communities.

Before you buy anything, it would be in your best interest, to define what you are towing. You may need something a bit bigger than a half ton.

While all the big manufacturers have offerings that sound like they fit your criteria, remember that if you are towing something a bit heavy, even if it falls into the towing guidelines, you may want to step up into a larger truck, to add the safety margin.

Things like brake size, transmission coolers, hitches, all play a role in the towing game, which is why knowing what you tow is critical to selecting the vehicle.

For example if you are towing a RV style trailer, the weight listed on the trailer is within specifications of your truck... until you put stuff in it, then, all of a sudden you are overloaded.

This can happen with virtually any application. So again, first step is define what you are towing and then start looking for the truck.

Always err on the side of caution.

As a former Assistant Service Manager at the largest RV dealer in Alaska, this is a topic we deal with each and everyday.

The Chevy Silverado just won Motor Trend's 2007
Truck of the Year. It has a really nice interior for a Chevy and looks clean retro. The Toyota Tundra is great for reliability and such but the interior looks cluttered. Dodges are :(

Go with the dodge ram 1500 hemi. compared to other full size trucks, it get good mpg's in relation to power. It's a hot truck that has good manners on road but maintains it's brutal dodge off road dominance.
