The paper edition of the New York Times has a travel area periodically perhaps Sunday
find a paper copy then use a cheeeeeeeaaaaaaaapppppppppp phone card to call overseas
see what they are able to do
I noticed while visiting Prague that rt airfares were fabulously cheap from a USAian perspective but "dear" from a local perspective If you feel daring try using that cheap phone card on a Czech travel agent
I like http://IcelandAir.com Among their cities are Boston which is a $24 RT busride from NYC plus Boston is way nifty tourist wise plus a little quieter than NY plus the airpost is on mass transit so its always cheap n rapid to get to bus or plane I like IcelandAir because you have a 3 day optional layover to see Iceland they have a hostel
While you are here meet an American http://www.couchsurfing.com stay with other people your age or visit the nifty AYH Youth Hostel http://www.hinewyork.org/ that is near 29.00 bunk bed

Try: Best Travel Store
www.bt-store.com
They always have very low prices for international flights. But I think when I was in London I was amazed at how low their prices were for flights anywhere. I think the US has more expensive prices, but you may check they have a system that will give you prices and you can make the reservation online there. Have used them to buy tickets to Thailand, Egypt, and Ireland so far and had very good prices (best) on tickets.

Either you search up on the internet, the travel websites and compare prices..
OR...
Do search up local travel agencies, and contact them, and start comparing prices, once you have the cheapest you could find, you can start booking it.
Good luck.

Check out www.priceline.com - that website lets you name your own price and they will shop the different airlines to see if anyone will except your bid.
