Has anyone had a puppy that had this? If so, what did it look like around the eyes, and did the pup get better? Our pup may have it, and I would like to know more about it from someone who experienced it themselves.

He has been to the vet. The only symptoms he has so far are around his eyes the hair looks thinner. But he has been wearing a halti for training, and pawing at his eyes alot, so the vet isn't sure yet. We stopped using the halti and will return to the vet in 3 weeks. I know WHAT demodex mange is, I just would like to hear from someone who has experienced it first hand.

my dog had deomdex mange. he is about 9 months old. it was basically a bald spot on his snout and thinning hair around the eyes. the bald spot had some sores on it though, which we thought was from his scratching it. we took him to the vet and they did a scraping and confirmed the mites. gave us an otc goodwinul to use. went back in 3 weeks for a follow up and he was all clear

Will need to take the pup to the vet. They will do a skin scrape and look under the microscope to see what mites are there. They can give you a special "dip" to use on your pup. Not all meds work on all forms of mange. Could even be ringworm as they lose their hair with that too. Go to vet. Some of these are tranferable to humans. Wash your hands thouroughly after playing with the pup. Yes, it can be cured.

I've seen lots of Demodex pups.
The skin looks thick and it's hard. With wrinkles and may be flaky.
A vet can tell you for sure.
Demodex is common in puppies. Usually, good food and supportive care will make it go away.
