This depends on how strong the mead is and what, if any, fruits or spices you added to it. I personally, don't bottle it until it's a year old, and then I let it sit some more.

Hopefully, you know to rack it a few times while it ferments.

Keep it airtight, using a stopper that lets off the pressure (buy them at the winemaking store) for about 12 months, it tastes better for the keeping
