My pastor preached on Britney Spears.
No, I'm not kidding. The text was Romans 1:28-32 and he offered her as a possible illustration of God giving people over to their sinful lifestyles. But that wasn't the part that had me driving home, dead silent, in deep thought on the way home.
He asked why none of us pray for her. "This is a young woman in serious spiritual trouble!" he said. And we're here scratching our heads over her, pointing fingers at her, laughing at her ... but none of us are praying for her. And aren't we supposed to be about helping the lost find their way to the Lord, even if only by praying for someone to come into their life at the right time? And doesn't this look like EXACTLY the time that she needs that??
How many other people in my life should I be praying for and I'm not? Not just the ones I can immediately think of (the friend battling with depression, etc.) but the ones not as obvious (Britney).

Our pastor is preaching a series on Luke- and today he preached on how Jesus came to save the poor, lift up the broken hearted, and proclaim freedom to the captives and how this should motivate us to live- loving those around us as Jesus loves us, and reminded us that Christ came to completely restore us- and the victory has already been paid- even when Satan attacks- satan is already defeated. Worship was great- but one thing that i have been learning from the Lord again lately, that worship is not just that hr, at church- but something we need to be doing 24/7. If we really worshiped every moment of our lives, the music would just be another tool to worship God by, and we would not be even concerned what songs were song. God bless you all-

I went to a friend's church today. It used to be a theater. It had lights, It had red velvet seats, speakers, a mocha bar, hey, it was downright awesome. Even the outside looked like a plantation.
But there wasn't one cross in the sanctuary, which was labeled the 'auditorium.' And if you went to meet the pastor afterwards, he bribed you with a ticked for a free mocha smoothie.
I was not so impressed with church today. I prayed more than usual in it, though.

We had an awesome talk on what the future holds for us. We know God knows the future, because of his history of prophecy being fulfilled. The speaker brought out the prophecy in Daniel and the march of the world powers....and how we are living in the end....the toes of the immense image. And the future is bright. We've had a little detour in God's purpose...via Adam and Eve. But soon it will all be corrected and we will be back to where we started...on a paradise earth with a society of perfect people without Satan's influence. Living happily ever after. :-)
We also had a discussion on how to become better teachers of the bible in our ministry.
It was all VERY, VERY encouraging!

We were taught on reaching the lost too. It is so amazing how God works through all the pastors in our country and world and sometimes has them preach on the very thing this world needs...salvation.

I went to Church and was amazed by the voices I have heard in Worship. actually made me stay there! My roommate, Melissa, and I just sat there amazed by the way our church worshiped. The pastor spoke about worship and he also talked about taking time out of your busy life for God. It was an amazing message. Melissa and I actually took the time out to stop and think of what we have to be thankful for.

I went to Mass and the priest spoke of how humans' sin but that Jesus still loves us and that we should try to improve ourselves. We sang songs(they were good) and read passages from the bible. Then, we had the Eucharist and he then made the sign of the cross and we left.
