I have been up for about for about eight hours and have experienced close to five large bowel movements in that time frame. Not diarraeha, but relatively loose and soft stools. I have not taken any laxatives, and I haven't been eating excessive amounts of fibre. What could this be? Yesterday I also experienced sharp pains in the left and middle side of my epigastric area, with pain radiating between both my left and right shoulder blades. Friday night I had extreme nausea and a lot of diarraeha, with acidic tasting & smelling burps.

Sounds like it could be pancreatitis. There are some blood tests that they can do to see if that is it. Your pancreas makes enzymes which help digest your food. Also, they can cause pain that radiates to your back, like what you described. Only a visit to the doctor is going to answer this properly.

This can be cause by many things, Yahoo answers is not the right place to get a diagnosis, I would go to your PCP and have them run some test. Make sure they do a test for the White Blood Cell level because this tells of infection or not. I had the same problem in 2001 and mine turned out to be Diverticulitous. I had 13" of my sygmoid colon removed and spent 39 days in the Hospital. Good Luck.

You ate something that doesn't agree with your system(and it may be combined with a flu like bug). Go on a bread and water or cracker and water diet for awhile till it passes(A couple of days). The nausea nad acidic burps is telling me that you swallowed something that is immediately reacting with the acid in your stomach. You know what it is (cause it is not what you normally eat)

Go IMMEDIATELY to the dr...sounds like gall bladder problems, or some other digestive problem. Do NOT wait...this sounds SERIOUS.
