The ATC transcripts released to date indicate that the bizjet was cruising at the altitude assigned it by ATC and on the routing they were issued by ATC, in full compliance with their clearance, when the collision occurred. Although sad, this is obviously a case of a screw-up on the part of Air Traffic Control, who placed two aircraft at the same altitude at the same location. The government jailed the pilots of the damaged bizjet in, apparently, an attempt to divert attention from the shortcomings of its own ATC system. BTW, despite what another person stated in his post, the bizjet crew did not turn off their transponder, or commit any other apparent violation of regs or good operating procedures. The area they were flying in is notorious for poor to non-existent radar coverage, unreliable navaids, and atrocious ATC service. My guess is that the pilots will bear the brunt of a trial operated by a government which is trying desparately to "cover its own tracks" and avoid responsibility in this matter, which goes directly to the inadequate and poorly trained and operated ATC system (operated by and geared primarily to the military, with civilian aircraft, including airliners, being given poor, or no, service) in that country.

Do you meen the ferry flight aircraft that brought down the GOL 737? I'm not sure. It seems the legacy crew were flying deliberatly without their transponder on which also shut down the TCAS system, and not answering calls from ATC. It seems the NTSB is waiting to publish a full report, and the pilots will probably be jailed, hopefully for a long time.

Taking your question as it is written, I have never heard of any piilots crashing against a plane! It would probably hurt since most planes are harder than their pilots! Why would anyone want to bash themselves against a plane?
