PETA members (and other zealots like them) are basically ignorant people. They may have "good hearts" and/or good intentions, but the bottom line is in order to "help" someone or something else, you have to have, or be, something the other is not. In the case of PETA, the ONLY things they have or know more than (and even THAT is questionable!) are "dumb animals". The animals can't come right out and tell the PETA people what idiots they are, so they focus on helping them, and making up imaginary crises to make themselves feel worthwhile. PEOPLE, on the other hand, can tell PETA to get a life and help themselves before they try to "help" those who don't need or want it.

Animals need help, too. There are tons of suffering animals in the world, and a huge over population problem.

Then again, I'm not necessarily supporting PETA. There are groups for animal rights that are a lot better and don't make stupid mistakes.

Its authentic we could help needy people, in spite of the undeniable fact that it would be incredibly egocentric if we ignore animals alongside the way. Face it, an afternoon the place there is no needy human beings to assist would under no circumstances come, there is often gonna be human beings in choose and persons in deep poverty. So we could constantly even have agencies helping out animals in choose ingredient via ingredient with many times happening agencies helping out people in choose. I completely trust what those animal rights activists are doing. No, i do no longer think of there is any ethical criminal accountability to assist out people first because of the fact a million others are looking after that area already. Do human rights activists have a ethical criminal accountability to assist out animals in choose after helping out fellow people? to place it in perspective, as an occasion, Zimbabwe has seven hundred human welfare agencies yet basically a million animal welfare corporation. So i do no longer see why that a million animal welfare corporation could ignore its responsibilities on animals and quite decide for helping the different seven hundred do their activity. Do the different seven hundred human welfare agencies help out animals in return? NO, they do no longer. Edit: Sorry, dude, I could admit even I misunderstood your question on the start and theory you have been being a jerk. in spite of the undeniable fact that, a closer study stated your question speaks fullyyt in any different case. stunning question!

You're missing a very simple fact. Peta doesn't help animals. Just go and look up anti-Peta on google, and that will give you all the facts and figures you need.

Just for the record, I am a vegetarian, and I know plenty of other vegetarians who feel the same way as me.

I would be curious to know just how much money goes into animal rights vs human rights. Just curious.

Is it that animal rights sell better than human rights ? Baby seals cuter than african children dying of AIDS ? In this era of image and publicity-driven societies, one wonders...

I am also absolutely digusted by unnecessary cruelty to animals. Most often people whom are cruel to animals will also be cruel to people. But I think we should get our priorities straight. Between helping a dying child and helping a dying animal, there shouldn't be any hesitation...

They're not valuing animal life over human life--it doesn't kill you to go vegetarian. In fact, you actually tend to live longer when you give up meat...not as much fat and cholesterol. We have lower rates of heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and certain kinds of cancers, among other things...going vegan is even better for you.

One of my main reasons for giving up animal products was actually to help humanity, believe it or not. There's three ways in which choosing a vegetarian diet can help other people. First of all, it can help to decrease hunger, since a vegetarian diet is far more efficient than one containing meat (you have to cycle maybe ten pounds of grain through a cow to end up with one pound of meat, since animals expend energy just by living). Second, the slaughterhouse industry is abusive not only to animals, but also to the workers--I believe it's statistically the most dangerous. If it's not #1, it's certainly up there. Third--and this may not matter yet, but it will in the future--giving up meat means that you don't contribute as much to global warming; it takes a lot more energy, water, and land space to produce meat. (Plus cows produce a lot of methane. Ew.) Global warming is definitely going to have consequences for humanity in the future, if it hasn't already.

Many vegetarians/vegans, including myself, also believe that by becoming more compassionate in one area, you tend to become a more thoughtful, generous person in other areas of your life. You can have it both ways--help animals and also help humanity, besides the ways I listed above. I'm a member of Amnesty International and volunteer to help people--being a vegan doesn't detract from any of that. It's just an added benefit. :-) Sorry for the rant, but this is something I really believe in.

Before you give money to a group like PETAkillsanimals, you'd better see who they are. Look up CCF (Center for Consumer Freedom). I don't pretend to know the entire story, but I found this in about ten minutes of looking on the internet.
