I think i'm finding out why no one wants to waist their time immigrating the legal way, its because INS will use your limited life span against you, and they bet you will give up if they make you wait enough years, even if you are an american it makes no difference at all, i say if you are a fruit picker, you should have to wait longer than me,i'm american the government is payed by my tax dollar to do whats best for me,(in short) they work for you and i,- iv'e been playing this crazy immigration waiting game for 6 years now, and been approved by the INS and have that document, now they say its only paper and is no proof a visa will come later,if we have been given rights as citizens should we always have to pay a law firm in order to recive or rights by force, I mean whats the deal with those people in government, can't they remember they are simply the employee's we pay, and not the new world order, if things are this bad out of control with them now, what will the future be like,???

You really need to consult an immigration attorney. For about $200 you can get a full hour consultation.

Don't say you can't afford it. Get a part-time job if need be.

This is the first time I have ever seen Yak Rider recommend an immigration attorney. Pay attention to that.

For what its worth, I think you have a case, but you do need a professional on your side.

Good luck.

EDIT: Just re-read your post. It appears you only have an approved I-130 petition. That gives your wife the right to apply for residency. There is a load of paperwork to fill in and an interview at the embassy. Have you done any of that. If not, you need a lawyer to activate this. The I-130 is NOT a visa. It confers no rights. It merely confirms that you are eligible to petition for your wife's residency.

Please consult a lawyer on this.

This is just one example of unfair immigration laws in the United States.

An attorney will probably be your best bet. Don't overlook the politicians--your two senators and Congressperson. They might be able to help.

Well you really need to put time line like this:
1998 Maried un Mexico
2001 Illegal entrance to US,
2002 I-130 approved

And so on. Its not clear wjts going on, its only clear that situation is complicated. I dont think its hopeless (the way I understood it), so dont give up. Rephrase your question.
