well in some breeds it natural... like in siberian huskies you can have 2 brown eyes, 2 blue eyes, or 1 brown and 1 blue eye!! but in some breeds its a sign of deaf... like in boston terriors... my friends has a boston terrior that has a brown eye and a blue eye and she has been deaf since birth!! the dog is still happy and still acts like a dog she just can't hear!! she has been taught some sign launage which i thought was pretty cool... i didn't know you could teach a dog sign launage until i saw it with my own eyes

This is called Heterochromia, its a rare deformity. Its where the two irises are different colours. Read more about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heterochromia . I think that that collie would be nice looking and uniqute with 1 blue and 1 brown eye.

In collies unlike in Siberian Huskies, that would be from merle patterning. When the merle patterning expresses itself over an eye the result is to change the color of the iris.

It's all about genes. I know humans with this, too.
Eye color is determined by the amount of melanin, a dark brown pigment, present in your irises. Blue eyes are due to a lack of melanin, while brown eyes indicate melanin-rich irises. Thus, people with darker hair and skin have higher levels of melanin and tend to have brown eyes, while people with lighter hair and skin have lower levels of melanin and usually have lighter colored eyes. This is also why many babies are born with blue eyes. Their eyes change color later as they begin to produce more melanin.
When an individual has different amounts of melanin in each of their irises, their eyes are different colors. Heterochromia iridium (the scientific name for two different color eyes in the same individual) is relatively rare in humans but common in some animals, such as horses, cats, and certain species of dogs. A variation on the condition is heterochromia iridis, in which an individual has a variety of colors within one iris.
Heterochromia iridium is thought to result from an alteration to one of the genes that controls eye color. This can be an inherited trait, although trauma and certain medications may result in increased or decreased pigmentation in one of the irises. Certain medical syndromes, such as Waardenburg syndrome, may also cause someone to have two different colored eyes.

Not sure why they are different colors, but the 2 different colors are usually found in Australian Shephards. The have the same type coat as a collie(sometimes more grey, mottled) with similar body style but shorter noses.

this is 100% normal, if an animal has 2 diff eye coler he/she is odd eyed, this might occur naturally when there born, from parent genes, or simply natually.. trust me its absolutly normal.
this is very rare and many ppl r amazed and would pay more for a dog because of this!!

It's all about genetics. I'm not sure exactly what it is in their genes but siberian huskies are the same way.

It's just the genetics. It happens in dogs, people, cats, horses...I don't know if it can happen in every critter, but anything's possible!
