Hello:
To be totally honest with you, detangler is better than using a conditioner and here is the reason why: I have very long hair past my waist, and I have tried EVERY brand of conditioner that is out on the market! No matter what kind of conditioner that I have used,NOTHING has helped my hair detangle,so that is why I have to use a detangler!
Plus,I have noticed that whenever I have used different brands of hair condtioners, all of them have made my hair looked really greasy, and I only used about a nickel sized amount if that! I would personally stick to using hair detangler because it will get out tangles quickly and easily! Plus,it will make your hair look really silky and shiny too! ;-)

Depends on your type of hair. I have fine and dry hair, so I need to use conditioner- if I use detangler, it gets nasty and frizzy after couple hours. If you color your hair, style it using a hot iron or a straightener, or if it's chemically treated, you will need to use a conditioner.
However, if your hair is on the oily side, if it's fine but not dry, or if you have healthy normal hair, detangler is all you need- it will help you style it easier without weighting it down.

yes, detangler does not have to be rinsed out and does not weigh the hair down like conditioner

It's better to use conditioner ... it'll help you get through the knots in your hair and it'll leave it softer, shinier, and overall healthier
