There is no devil equivalent in Hindu mythology and culture....
There is only Yama - the lord of death (and justice !) - no evil instinct per se.... and he reports to Shiva. Yama has a hell, but its not equivalent to Hell in Christian ideology...its more like a purgatory
Both good and evil, dark and light are under Gods' purview
Sure, there are a lot of minor baddies around in Hindu mythology, but no supreme evil - no concept of devil/Satan
------
What could be the possible impacts on the social psyche of the people growing under such a cultural milieu over the millenia, as compared to cultures with a devil concept ?
------
Incidentally, Yama appears in Chinese and Japanese mythology too

There is no devil/Satan concept in Asatru either, and I have spent my entire life in that religion. We have only Loki, "doer of good and doer of evil, as are we all". This taught me to take responsibility for my own actions rather than fostering a 'the devil made me do it' attitude. I also tend to examine everything critically and if I question something I don't have the worry that my questioning is the 'devil making me doubt'.
I think the devil/Satan concept is a detriment to society, providing a crutch, or 'out', for those who don't want to take responsibility for themselves or their actions.

Its extremely elementary my expensive buddy , Hinduism says like each action has opposite and equivalent reaction god is the author and he's the destroyer . you are able to ask why . assume you're given an section and requested to boost optimal no of flora in a restricted area or a land what number flora are you able to boost ? in reality a restricted . And after some time even as the completed boost is over for those flora or after those flora grown as timber if again you've requested to same exercising interior an identical position then what is going to you do you are able to ruin the timber or the former flora what you've grown . so that you will be the author and also you'll be destroyer likewise god is the destroyer and author

No concept of ( a Christian) devil yields no Devil in Hinduism, nor does it in Christianity for that matter if the concept has no substance, no meaning that an individual is willing to believe and accept. For no vortex can exist without a need or edict that summons it.
In neither case does that change the reality that there exists a force that varying concepts share in common regardless of dogma, acceptance or awareness or belief.

Religions that have a devil are mostly those which got the idea from ancient Persian Zorostrianism, in which the bad guy is Aharman, who tempts Zoroaster with the promise that he would make him ruler of the nations, viewed from a high place, if he would renounce his religious calling. This story of the Great Temptation is in Buddhism and Christianity as well as in Zoroastrianism.

God is real, but the devil was just made up by people who wanted to have someone to blame for their bad behavior. There is no hell- we ALL go to heaven when we die. I try to be a good person and treat all of my brothers and sisters well because I want to, and because it is right, not because I am afraid of going to hell. I can only answer for myself. Peace to you.

hinduism is one hell twisted faith. they are way off of God. if they were back in the old testament, the consequences of their practices would cause their destruction.
