Im going to buy one of these. Honda Civic Type S 2.2cdti or a VW Golf GT TDi. What one should I choose?They are both great cars..

I'll put it this way.

Last year, Honda's Jazz became the first ever car to be in production for a full year without a single warranty claim anywhere in the world. Not one failure in the world in 2006. To me, that is a bewildering statistic when you consider how many Jazz's are out there.

And simply on that basis, the Honda screws the Golf flat.

The Honda diesel is an excellant piece of engineering as is the Golf. Personally i would choose the Honda over the Golf based on the more modern asthetics. The honda diesel is cleaner and faster. The Golf interior is slightly cheaper looking.

Nobody in the world builds better engines than Honda. You cant go wrong with the Civic.

Both nice cars and the Jap cars are neat but you will find that the spares are very expensive for Honda, I would go for the Golf.

a few of my friends had golfs then upgraded to a civic, i myself prefer the civic.

golf gt 150 hp engine, very quick! not a fan of the jap diesels.

Get a golf, but dont get a diesel.

Civics get really fantastic gas mileage, and they're clean. I personally think they're better looking, too.
