YES! Most organized BASS or FLW sanctioned events are strictly catch and release.

There is a company called Sure Life Labs , and they manufacture a product called "Please Resease me". It is used in your livewell to help keep the fish healthy.

The Sure Life company travels around the country and helps at these tournaments to ensure that the highest number of bass survive the event. They provide tanks and rejuvination stations so the bass do better than without the chemical enhancements, and have a 98% better chance of surviving and thriving after release.

Yes, they do. I fished in bass tournaments with my dad since I was 16 years old. Even when my dads not fishing a tournament he still practices catch and release with bass. Bass fishing is the best!!! :)

Every tourn. I have ever been in the bass are released and usually there is a 100% live fish release.
I had to add that if you don't believe they do, just go to one of the wayins, usually they provide a release boat that holds the fish until the end of the wayin and goes out on the lake and releases the fish at certain location.

good fishing

I fished tournaments full-time for 6 years in Ark, Okla, and Texas. No tournament I was in would allow you to weigh-in a dead fish and ALL fish were released by the weigh-in officials after they were weighed.

yes...all big name tournaments and most local tournaments release their fish back into the wild. There are big boats with holding tanks in them that they put the fish in and then return them to the lake.

Yes! Usually there are penalties for dead fish.I do think there are too many of these things around. In the HOT summer months I think the mortality rate is high, and should not be practiced.Bass (large mouth) are not the greatest eating fish but done right they are good eating and if you do kill one it should not go to waste(as with any creature) Use of common sense should always be first and foremost.

Yes - Bass is a great sport fish but poor eating. It has a very gamy flesh and is not delicate as a white fish is expected to be.

Yes, they release them and in most tournaments if a fish dies the angler cannot count it toward his weight.
