As long as it doesnt cause you any pain its a non-issue. Call your recruiter today.

Well, I tried to join the Air Force a few years ago, and during an initial phone interview I was asked if I had flat feet (yes), and the interviewer immediately disqualified me! Now, if the Air Force won't take you for that reason, imagine what the Army would be like, since you literally are "the boots on the ground!" They indeed are very serious about this (although with all the talk lately about missing recruitment goals, maybe they're getting a little desperate...)

I was in the AF for six years and knew many people who had flat feet. Also, my husband served in the Marines and has flat feet. It may really depend on the job that you get and the severity of the flatness. I've read that some people will be disqualified if they have had knee, ankle or other leg problems because of the excessive marching and running. Best bet it to check w/ a recruiter and military doc. GOOD LUCK!

I have flat feet. When I enlisted in the USMC I was told that I could not be a GRUNT. But, since I entered with an Aviation Guarantee I had no problem serving my country for 21 years. Talk to your recruiter.

Technically, if you have flat feet you can't join, but it is one of the things that can be waived. My husband has flat feet and he is in the military (first Guard, now on Active duty). Talk to a recruiter if you want to join, or want more information.
